Product Manager

Responsible for the international commercial management of the grape, kiwi and Clementine export programs with annual sales of USD 8 MM. Develops and implements the commercial strategy of the portfolio, handles the daily business relationship with all customers, being responsible for the negotiation and management of the programs. Leads and co-ordinates the working team formed by the commercial, production and shipping areas.

  • Increases the volume of business with new and strategic customers, especially supermarket chains in USA and Europe, therebyimproving the profitability of the programs by an average of 10%.

Monitors the results of the commercial department and proposes improvement actions. Supervises the commercial assistant and coordinates the information flow between the commercial and the finance areas. Leads and coordinates the team that performs the grower’s liquidation processes.

  • Performs an analysis of the internal customers’ information needs and together with the IT department, develops and implements tools to improve the commercial analysis, the decision making process and the quality of the information sent to the headquarters.
  • Establishes a process to perform the grower’s liquidations. Trains and coordinates the involved parties, thus, complying with the contractual deadlines and improving the service level provided to our customers.

Logistics Analyst – Reports directly to the Managing Director, 2005 – 2006

Analyses the company’s logistics processes and makes improvement propositions.

  • Develops a central data base, based on the requirements of the production and finance areas, to speed up the calculation of the fares charged to growers, thus speeding up and improving the invoicing work.
  • Corrects the procedure for road transport of the company’s products, redefines and standardizes the contract with truckers, therefore, eliminating the risk of legal problems with them.

  • Through interviews with several fresh fruit exporting companies, performs a feasibility study of logistics services for that industry. The conclusions of this study were the starting point for the construction of a cross docking station in San Antonio that was opened in 2005.

Marketing Assistant – Reports to the Global Director of Refrigerated Services

Responsible forthe proposal and development of projects that help improve the refrigerated cargobusiness results.

  • After working as Product Manager of the product known as “Super Freezer” for the markets of Europe and America, convinces top management to allocate resources for the development of a commercial management system for the product. Together with the IT department develops a system, implements it and later on, trains 30 users. This system reduced by 50% the time dedicated to data maintenance and allowed those resources to be used in other projects.
  • Gets top management’s approval to develop a study that shows the size, opportunities and better segmentation of the global market of refrigerated cargo. Collects, processes and analyses the information from all countries where the company has operations and develops a study that was presented to the CEO, resulting in an increase of USD$ 10MM to projects within the refrigerated market.
  • Researches the import markets of UK and USA to find opportunities in offering “refrigerated-logistics” services. This multicultural groupdevelops and presents to the CEO a joint commercial strategy for the shipping and the logistics companies of the group. This strategy was accepted and implemented during the years 2003 and 2006 through the project known as “Starlight”.
