- Strategy and Objectives for 2015
4.1.Opportunities and constraints
The Board will continue to re-focus with a view of kick-starting activities within the Division, including an affiliation with the Cenex conference and exhibition at Millbrook.
The Division’s aim is to promote and advance the profile of automotive materials. There remain several challenges facing the sector where material selection holds the solution—light weighting, sustainability, electrification, globalisation, durability and reliability.
The Board will develop an appropriate Technical programme in association with other Institute Technical Divisional groups and organisations.
Future plans include a broader international outreach and a poll of IOM3 members with a specified automotive interest through a questionnaire to gain additional support and directed steer on ‘wants and needs’ from the constituent members
The IOM3 Website will be overhauled and updated
