Course Description:

This course is intended to provide you with the knowledge and working skills to be able to perform repairs, removal, replacement, and adjustment of interior and exterior panels and moveable glass. Welding and plastic repair procedures are also learned during this course. This course incorporates all of the state standards for Media Arts and will fulfill the high school Arts graduation requirement.

Course Goal:

The goal of this course is designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge and working skills leading to complete the ASE task list in Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair. This course incorporates all of the state standards for Media Arts and will fulfill the high school Arts graduation requirement.

Content Delivery Method:

This course includes in-class activities and lab/shop activities. In-class activities include lectures, discussions, student presentations, and research. Lab/shop activities include completing designated procedures that involve removal, replacement, and adjustment of interior and exterior panels and moveable glass. During lab/shop activities you will apply knowledge obtained from in-class discussions and readings to further advance your understanding of Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair.


Course Evaluation:

You will be evaluated on the achievement of the tasks/skills as listed on the competency profile, study questions, lab activity participation, reflection logs, and exams.

Grading:

Assignments, homework, tests, quizzes, notes, projects, and most class work are awarded points. Your grade will be calculated by a percentage of the total points.

A= 93-100% A-=90-92%

B+=87-89% B=83-86% B-=80-82%

C+=77=79% C=73-76% C-=70-72%

D+=67-69% D=63-66% D-=60-62%

F=0-59%

Grading continued

The work completed during a regular class period is worth 10 points. Tests and projects will be more than 10 points because they cover more than one day’s material. Late work will have 10% of the point value deducted from that assignment after grading. Late work must be turned in a week before the end of the marking period for the student to receive credit. Students must make arrangements with the instructor to make up work for EXCUSED absences.

Safety:

It is essential that each student follow all safety guidelines, rules, and procedures as discussed in class and demonstrated in the lab/shop. Safety glasses are required for all lab activities.
