Authority to Ensure Compliance with FPMR, 41 CFR 101-20.307, Relating to Alcoholic Beverages

SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority

I. DELEGATION

Under the authority vested in me by section 412 of the Department of Education Organization Act, 20 U.S.C. §3472, and in accordance with section 101-20.307 of the Federal Property Management Regulations, 41 CFR 101-20.307, I hereby designate you and anyone serving for you in an acting capacity as the Departmental official responsible for ensuring compliance with the cited regulation relating to alcoholic beverages and narcotics on Federal property. This designation includes the authority to grant exemptions in writing for use of alcoholic beverages for appropriate official uses.

II.  RESERVATIONS

None.

III.  REDELEGATION

This authority may be redelegated to Principal Officers, but may not be redelegated further.

IV.  CERTIFICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE

This delegation is effective upon certification by the Department’s Principal Delegations Control Officer. It supersedes all previous delegations of this specific authority.
