NOTICE OF RACE

  1. RULES
  2. Gold Fleet
  3. The regatta will be governed as defined in ISAF RacingRules of Sailing 2013-2016.
  4. An amended Addendum Q approved by ISAF under RRS86.2 allowing umpiring on the water for races will apply(Attachment 1).
  5. RRS Appendix P, Immediate Penalties for breaking Rule42, will apply according with limitations provide by 2014 Class Rules (Attachment 6).
  6. The Yachting Australia Regulations Part 2 (for off the beach boats) shall apply (Attachment 2).
  7. Silver Fleet
  8. The regatta will be governed as defined in ISAF Introdutory Rules for Racing (Attachment 5).
  9. All boats may be required to display advertising chosen andsupplied by the Organizing Authority.
  1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
  2. The ISAF eligibility code will apply.
  3. All sailors must be a member of the Australian International O’penBic Class AssociationInc. and Yachting Australia Inc.
  4. Age Divisions:

  1. THE COURSES

The courses to be sailed will be outlined in the Sailing Instructions and at the daily briefings during the regatta.

  1. SCORING
  2. The Low Point Scoring system of RRS Apendix A will apply.
  3. One race is required to be completed to constitue a series.
  4. a) When fewer than four races have been compelted, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

b) When from four to seven races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the toal of her series scores excluding her worst score.

c) When eight or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her series scores exclusing her two worst scores.

  1. SUPPORT BOATS

Support and coach boats shall keep clear and 50 metres outside the course area and to leeward of all competitors when racing. The course area is defined as the area a boat is likely to sail in.

  1. AUDIO COMMUNICATION

Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

  1. PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded as follows for the Overall results of both heats:

  • Gold Fleet:
  • Overall: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
  • U16: 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
  • U13: 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
  • Silver Fleet:
  • Overall: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
  1. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

  1. INSURANCE
  2. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $AU10 000 000.00 per event or the equivalent. All competitors that complete the entry process are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover.

  1. RIGHTS TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS

In participating, a competitor automatically grants to the Organising Authorities, the Coordinating Authorities and the sponsors, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show, from time to time and at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of him/her during the period of the competition in which the competitor participates and in all material related to the said Event without compensation.
