August 27, 2009 AFCA Board of Directors meeting
Call to order at 7:30pm
Board Members present: Troyce Hood, Lisa Cox, Kathleen Sullivan, Pat Haun, Lolita Malave’, Mike Barr, Tim Boyles, Harvey Ernest – Property manager
Board members absent: Robyn Fletcher, Jim Salthouse

Manager’s Report:
A. memberclicks website update: mock version of the community homepage and navigational structure were presented for suggested changes, additions and deletions from the BOD. Director names and email address will be available on the new website. A link to a neighbor directory will be available. An Architectural change/addition request form will be available.
B. Pruning of trees from street lights- Property manager presented a list of trees indentified for pruning away from street lights and a price quote from tree service company. BOD approved the quote and work will commence when references have been verified.
C. Community Watch- Volunteers are still needed to organize community watch programs for the safety of the community. For more information contact City of Greensboro police officer William Barham at 412-3928 or 382-7924. Or contact community member Ann Callahan for information on how to get started.
D. Adams Farm Night Out- BOD will attempt to coordinate with local school for a combined celebration.
E. Financial Report- Dues are slow to come in. Foreclosures and bankruptcies are on the rise. BOD approved the financial report.
Old Business:
A. Erosion specialist update: references have checked out. The property manager is finalizing contract. There are significant drainage issues in the Homeplace community. Manager will bring this to the attention of the erosion specialist for evaluation.
B. The BOD approved the mission statement for the Adams Farm Community. “It is the mission of the Adams Farm Community Association to enhance the overall quality of our community, encourage communication, participation and goodwill among our residents.”
New Business:
A. Curb painting flyer- Many community homeowners received a flyer for the painting of the curb in front of their home. This advertisement is not sanctioned or endorsed by the board of directors or the management company.
B. Landscape contract- The BOD approved the revised landscape contract for use in the future.
C. Issues presented by Dr. Haun- Signs: most of the requested signs have been erected. The entering/leaving Adams Farm signs will be ordered and installed next.
Speeding: on the parkway in the Elk Run neighborhood is still a problem. The board president is lobbying elected officials for speed humps to be installed on the Elk Portion of the parkway. Residents are encouraged to contact Commissioner Trudy Wade 323-6480 about the speeding problem in this neighborhood.
D. The property manager was directed to have the dead landscaping removed from the Chimney Springs sign and mulch the area.
