Rehearsals are onMonday and Wednesday and Friday morningsfrom7:50-8:20A.M. in Music Room 223.

Students are expected to enter the building through thebus port doors ONLY. The doors will open at 7:50 A.M. Upon entering the building, students are expected to walk quietly to Room 222, put up their backpack and belongings, and then enter Room 223 for choir rehearsal.

Students are responsible for touching their number on the SmartBoard to register their attendance. If a student forgets to do this, they will be counted absent.

All students are expected to be on time for each rehearsal. A student is considered “tardy” after8:00 A.M. A student may haveno more than 5 unexcused tardiesper semester. If a student has more than 5 unexcused tardies per semester, they will not be able to participate in choir concerts or events. A note or call must be given to Mr. C or Ms. Day in order for the student to receive an excused tardy.

Students may haveno more than 3 unexcused absencesper semester. If a student has more than 3 unexcused absences in a semester, that student will be unable to participate in choir concerts or events. A note or call must be given to Mr. C or Ms. Day to receive an excused absence.

All students must have the required uniform in order to participate in choir. The required uniform is a Cougar Cub Choir shirt (approximate cost $12.00 - order forms available on first day of choir),blackslacks, and dark Closed-toe shoes (no neon tennis shoes or light ups please!). No ornamented, short, or frayed slacks allowed. Also, opened-toed shoes or “flip flops” may not be worn due to safety concerns on steps and risers. This year we will be ordering the same shirts as the last three years (red polo shirts). All students must wear this uniform for each concert/performance.Black slacks, socks, shoes and beltmust be purchased on your own. We have a very limited number of used shirts from last year. These shirts will be available for a reduced price. Please contact us if you are interested. If anyone is truly unable to purchase a shirt, please contact us and we will try our best to find a uniform for you.

Exemplary behavior is expected during all rehearsals and performances. Poor behavior will not be tolerated and is grounds for automatic dismissal from the choir. If a student has an office referral, that student will not be able to participate in choir concerts or events. Choir students are expected to have “cream of the crop” behavior at all times.

Students must maintain a70% averagein all classes as well as an "S" in conduct in order to participate in any concert or appearance outside of school.

Music must bememorizedfor all performances unless otherwise stated. Each student is responsible for knowing their appropriate part. Lack of memorization is grounds for not being able to participate in choir concerts or events.

Students are required toattend every performance. If a student has to miss a performance, a written communication must be sent to Mr. C. or Ms. Day at least two weeks in advance.
