During the Spring 2018 Quarter, the Immigrant Justice Clinic (IJC) is being offered.All students interested in the IJC must pre-register and complete and return the attached applicationby Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 5pm.Along with the attached application, please include: (1) An Updated Resume/CV, (2) Course Evaluations, and (3) Coop Evaluations (if and when available).

Clinic Description:Law students, under the supervision of clinical faculty and staff, devote approximately 20 hours per week to providing legal services to non-citizen clients. Students will interview, research, plan, investigate, write, counsel, negotiate, and advocate for their clients. Students are exposed to cross-cultural legal practice and working with interpreters. The types of cases handled are primarilyapplications for asylum, but may also include U-visas, T-visas, and other forms of relief, as well as bond cases in Immigration Court. The skills students learn in this course are transferable to any civil or criminal practice after law school. Enrollment is limited to 6 students during the Spring 2018 Quarter. Students must completeeither “Immigration Law” or “Refugee Asylum Law,” or have relevant experience,prior to taking the clinic.
Students will engage in an intensive training program during the first fewweeks of the quarter. Please note: Spring2018 Quarter clinic applicants should plan to be in town and available on:
- Wednesday, February 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm
- Friday, March 2 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm
- Wednesday, March 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm
- Friday, March 9 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm
- Wednesday, March 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm
- Friday, March 16 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
