City Manager’s Office:

Attended the Bonita Del Sol meeting held in Council Chambers.

Attended the City/County Manager Meeting in Fort Myers.

Met with Dave Hanson of Pueblo Bonita to discuss the donation of property.

Met with Pastor Winn and his wife to discuss his outdoor church.

Attended the REIS Board Meeting in Fort Myers.

Participated in a meeting to discuss the Art Festival road closures and possible solutions.

Staff had a meeting with BSU to discuss the ROW and other items.

Attended the Historic Preservation Board Workshop regarding the Demolition Delay.

Met with the Lion’s Club to talk about the Dixie Moon relocation.

Communications Department:

Edited Art in Public places brochure.

Processed Bourne 2 Dance Special Event Permit– Holiday Recital.

Processed SWFL Veterinary Specialist Special Event Permit– – Bark in the Park.

Processed Jesus Poder Para Cambiar Ministries Special Event Permit– – Music Concert.

Designed and posted garbage pickup schedule for Thanksgiving.

Designed and posted Movies in the Park slider.

Attended Technology Advisory Board meeting

Attended Special Event Committee Meeting.

Held meeting regarding road closures during the Art Festival with member of the Downtown Alliance, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Art Festival representatives, Traffic Engineer, City Manager, Councilman Gibson and Director of Communications.

Worked on a newsletter for Councilman Forbes. Also worked on a webpage to host links.

Added slider to website for Northern Pine—Tree Advisory Board.

Attended Holiday Lighting Walk Through.

Holiday in the Park planning.

Staff worked the Taste of Bonita Event.

Sent e-blast of Council’s recent Accomplishments.

Submitted an article to the Florida League of Cities -Quality Cities Magazine, The City of Bonita Springs was featured as a spotlight in the November/December Issue.

Released Movie in the Park press release.

Released Holiday in the Park press release.

Released Road Watch for the Downtown Improvement Project press release.

Executed Movie in the Park.

Held a Communications Advocate Meeting.

Researching Websites with various groups for input on updating the City’s Website.

Assisted Parks and Recreation with new computer set up.

Assisted finance with moving all equipment for carpet replacement and reinstalled all equipment.

BTV

General Live and rebroadcasting operations and Bulletin Board working as expected. Century Link had a couple of head-end calls in the last month for lack of video signal, though each time the problem was solved within minutes.

Lee County Sheriff's Office series "Crime Stoppers" will be back on our channel within a month. Staff contacted Trish Route, the show's anchor, and she already authorized us to re-broadcast the series. Working on formats.

WGCU was contacted for new programming but we are still waiting for a response

Produced segment covering Governor Scott’s Jobs Announcement for the City record.

Worked with Parks and Rec in the production of two new segments "Tai Chi at Parks and Rec" and "Disc Golf at Parks and Rec". Programs are airing on BTV98 and available online.

Produced "Veterans Day" and "The Louisville Sluggers in Bonita Springs". Programs are airing on BTV98 and available online.

Working with Councilwoman Amy Quaremba in the production of OUR TOWN District 1. Three segments were already taped. More to be produced. Next Our Town will feature Councilman Fred Forbes and District 6.

Producing bi-weekly "The City Report" with City Clerk Debbie Filipek. Segment also includes downtown traffic information and Recycling PSAs.

Stormwater PSAs, both in English and Spanish, scheduled for daily broadcast.

Running tests on PELCO matrix to identify input issues. Also working directly to PELCO's head technician in CA to solve this problem.

In touch with Alliance for Community Media through white papers' membership briefings regarding government access television legislation.

Neighborhood Services:

Director and Communications Director provided an over view of outreach and the new Diversity Focus Group at Council Meeting.

Staff conducted the first discussion meeting for the newly formed Diversity Focus Group.

Second meeting for the Diversity Focus group is scheduled for December 14th.

Staff completed an Old 41 north roadside clean up.

Staff met with Community Policing to discuss potential team enforcement “sweeps” in designated areas.

Director attended the Community Development Planning and Zoning meeting.

Development Services:

BSU Administration Building – The Phase One Building has been completed and BSU staff is moving in. Plans are to proceed with the renovation of the small customer building on Terry Street prior to additional site construction.

Caliber Collison – Recently received a Certificate of Occupancy for their new building at the corner of Old 41 and Strike Lane. Caliber should be open to the public later this month.

American House Phase 3 – This final 3 story building was opened to the public in late November and 5 new residents have already moved in.

Hyatt Water Park Expansion – This expanded amenity opened last month offering a large wave pool and several water slides.

Askar Retail Center – Work will soon be completed on this new retail building east of 41. Black Jacks Pizza is moving in as the first tenant.

Natura Homes - Roads and infrastructure has been completed in this small community that borders the Bonita Fairways Golf Course. Seven Spec homes are near completion.

Seaglass at Bonita Bay: This multi-story tower is under construction and is currently pouring concrete on the fourth floor.

LCSO:

Participated in the Wounded Warriors softball game on Veterans Day.

Provided traffic enforcement for a City Hall meeting.

Provided security and traffic control for 5K run hosted by Bonita Rotary Club.

Attended the funeral for “honoree Deputy” Damian Creed.

Attended and provided security for City Council meeting. Corporal Edwards also spoke at the meeting in reference to road closures at Bonita events.

Attended the city of Bonita Springs Veterans Day event in Riverside Park.

Continued to assist the Bonita Narcotics Unit in several on-going narcotics investigations.

Conducted ATV patrol in wooded areas in and around the city limits reference “homeless” camp sites.

Lt. Przespolewski and South District Command met with the Mayor and City Manager to meet new Commander of South District Captain Blake Lee.

Corporal Hunter and Edwards attended a meeting with the city reference the upcoming Art Fest and discussed possible road closures.

Parks & Rec:

The Bee House entrance ramp at the Bonita Nature Place is being repaired this week.

Professor Kara Lefevre from FGCU brought a group of her students to the Bonita Nature Place for an environmental tour of the park.

The Bonita Springs Skate Park required another portion of unsafe rotten wood to be removed last week. The Skate Park is now back up and operational.

Met with McMahon Associates for review of the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan. The final draft has been distributed for the Mayor and City Council members to review and give final comments back by Monday December 5th.

The Bonita Springs Recreation Center held a very successful Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the Bonita Springs Assistance Office for the Holiday season.

Completed Parks and Recreation department staff mid-year evaluation meetings.

Park maintenance staff assisted with the Taste of Bonita event.

Parks and Recreation staff assisting with the Holiday in the Park event.

Working on the bid documents for the CDBG funded Community Park playground project.

Working with Pete Shattuck, Bonita Springs YMCA Director, for a possible partnership opportunity for YMCA fitness room use during seasonal high demand.
