Meeting minutes

October 4th, 2017

Meeting called to order 7:00pm

Attendance: All districts were in attendance.

Secretary’s Report- Dena Walters

September 6th, 2017 meeting minutes were attached to the website, if no corrections I will take a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Motion to approve: 1st STMA 2nd LDC motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report- Jeff Swenson- written and oral report given. Attached is the written report.

Treasurer’s Report

Checking Account (Citizens Bank) $ 35,204.23

Catastrophic Failure Savings (Citizens Bank) $ 38,346.52

Action Items:

The tax forms for fiscal year ending June 30, 2017 have been prepared by our CPA. They will be

mailed to the IRS next week.Bank) $ 38,337.74

Official Report- Mike Mooney- not present no report.

WSOA is an individual group that D5 has entered into a contract with and D5 has another year left. WSOA is making a mandatory meeting for all current refs and they are having a mandatory meeting for all refs.

Tournament Coordinator – Jeff Carlen ~ not present no report

Girls Coordinator – Dena Walters ~ Tier 1 we are working hard to get our own girls teams for the next year.

Girls state meeting is Oct 15th video conferencing to get the leagues set.

MN Hockey District Director-Steve Gapinski

MN Hockey Updates

1.)Game limit prior to official roster 5 pre-roster games scrimmages prior to this needs to be sent to Steve for approval.

Date time place and players names

5 game limit. Get rosters done as soon as tryouts complete.

2.) Scorebooks:

Let me know next month how many your Association needs.

Will have for pick up at November meeting.

3.) Regional fee changes:

New fee structure.

Pee Wee/U12 will now be $900.00/team ($550.00 team + $350 gate)

Bantam/U15 will now be $1100.00/team ($750.00 team + $350 gate)

 Wouldn’t be a surprise if this doesn’t change.

Scheduling Weekend: Oct 14-15th SCSU National Hockey Center

Q: How soon can mites start practicing~ A: they can be with another rostered team as long as they are not practicing together.

ASSOCIATION UPDATE

Each association representative will share what is happening in their association

St. Cloud: Had hockey fun day to try and grow the game. HDM is set and coming quickly. Mites are down and numbers are down generally.

Buffalo/Annandale: Ice in party went over well. good turnout numbers are about the same.

Hutchinson: had try hokcey date and setting up a few more dates to get kids to sign up, having annual Ocotober fest, numbers are about the same, tryouts are next weekend.

LDC: tryouts will finish next weekend, numbers are down a little bit.

MOOSE: successful golf tournament 18K raised and helped reduce fees for all. Mites are growing, tryouts are done. Pancake breakfast this weekend. Numbers are up even after the breaking off of Annandale.

River Lakes: numbers are holding steady and tryouts will be done next weekend

Sartell: grilling for the girls was a success. Mites are up.

Sauk Rapids: numbers are about equal and tryouts will be done

STMA: tryouts are finishing up, numbers seem to be up. No whole in the ground at this time.

Willmar: running through with city run levels dynamics for pre-season to get ready for tryouts. Numbers are about the same. Tryouts are done by MEA.
