A Valentine Donation for Green Wood Coalition
St. Anthony Catholic Elementary Schools, Port Hope
After having a representative from Green Wood Coalition visit our school in December to explain their purpose and how they assist the needy in our community, many grade 7 and 8 students felt the call to contribute. A Valentine’s Dance was planned and student volunteers filled roles such as, Promotions, D.J., Bakers and Canteen Workers, Entrance Fee Collectors, and Decoration Committee Members. The dance occurred in the gym at St. Anthony from 6 p.m. till 9:00 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 13th, and was open to students from St. Anthony in grades 6-8. An entrance fee of $ 5.00 was charged and students had the opportunity to purchase snacks and have their picture taken in the Valentine ‘Photo Booth’. Fun was had by all and most importantly, a total of $759.00 was raised for Green Wood Coalition.
