At the activity organized with the cooperation of Zorlu Holding and ATÖLYE Labs, the participants developed for three days innovative projects for the use of technology in education
The project named “Gezgin” (Traveler) awarded the first prize at the activity organized by Zorlu Holding and ATÖLYE Labs
Zorlu Holding and ATÖLYE Labs realized a completely new activity aimed at developing joint solutions to the social problems. At the activity where the participants searched for three days with the support of technology an answer to the question “How can we ease the students’ earning the competences required in the 21st Century?”; the first prize was given to the project called virtual “Traveller” which encourages the kids to realize their dreams with the help of the virtual reality.
Three-day activity that was realized by Zorlu Holding, which is driven at all its works and projects by the motto of producing a common value for the society, together with ATÖLYE Labs for the purpose of seeking solutions to the social problems has been completed. The activity’s aim was to spread to our society the first seeds of the “social innovation” idea which is growing and developing across the world each day as the activity sought an answer to the question “How can we ease the students’ earning the competences required by the 21st Century with the support of technology?” At the end of the activity held atATÖLYE Istanbul for three days, the first prize was given to the project named “Traveler” which told the kids in 5 to 9 age group with the help of the virtual reality that making mistakes was an essential part of realizing your dreams.
The young meet with experts
The students from different universities and departments, young professionals and social entrepreneurs from different segments of the society came together and refreshed their ideas on education and technology by listening to valuable persons speakers like Prof. Dr. Erhan Erkut, ERG (Educational Reform Initiative) Coordinator Batuhan Aydagül, CNN Türk Economy Manager Emin Çapa, Robert College Education Technology Coordinator Burcu Aybat, Sınav Uzmanı A.Ş’s founder Can Gürses, LaLa Eğitim Teknolojileri Founding Partner Eray Erdoğan and ATÖLYE İstanbul Culture and Media Manager Aylin Durmaz.
At the second stage of the activity, the participants developed new ideas to solve the given problems by working in groups. And on the last day of the activity, they modelled their ideas and presented to the jury which is consisted of names who are experts of their field. At the end of the assessments of the Jury, the project named “Gezgin” (Traveler) was given the first prize and it was entitled to get the financial support as it was selected as the project nearest to the solution of the problem.
Gezgin encourages the kids to dream using the virtual reality
“Gezgin” is a project that helps the kids in 5 to 9 age group learn not being afraid of dreaming by way of encouraging them to dream with virtual reality. The team of the project which was designed for showing that making a mistake was an essential part of realizing your dreams included Derya Bilginer, Sümeyye Özüzün, Kemal Burak Çakırer and Efe Ekin. The project will receive financial support from Zorlu Holding as well as mentorship support from AtölyeLabs and S360. At the end of the process, the team will be able to transform their ideas into a feasible, scalable and devisable project in a manner that produces an influence.
Amazons the second and Omega3 the third
In addition to “Gezgin”, there were many more creative and innovative projects in the activity, and the second prize went to the platform of the group named “Amazons” developed for the purpose of preventing the blunting of the curiosity in children of 5 to 9 age group. And the team named “Omega3” won the third prize with their project aimed at helping the students of the Faculty of Education start their teaching career in a well-equipped manner thanks to the innovative curriculum and internship programs.
These activities where the individuals from diverse disciplines come together to produce new and creative ideas will continue to be held in the future periods for the purpose of finding solutions for different social problems with the support of Zorlu Holding and cooperation with AtölyeLabs.
