ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

FULL-TIME GRIFFIN CAMPUS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing. Applicant must be credentialed to satisfy all administrative and instructional functions mandated by appropriate accrediting bodies. Must possess a current Georgia Registered Nurse License or eligibility for licensure; A minimum of three years of professional nursing experience preferably in nursing education within the last seven years. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree with a specialty in nursing education and prior teaching experience in an accredited nursing education program; Prior experience or educational background in curriculum planning, development, and evaluation; Knowledge of learning theories, educational psychology, and instructional theory. Prior experience with evaluation of students; Computer skills and ability to use common software programs; The ability to implement technology into nursing education.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will be primarily responsible for assisting the Program Administrator in the initial program development, administration, implementation, and evaluation of a new associate degree nursing education program. Manage other academic responsibilities including but not limited to: recruiting qualified nursing program faculty; developing nursing faculty policies and workload; developing associate degree nursing program admission criteria; developing nursing program and student policies manuals; developing classroom and laboratory configurations; identifying and ordering program related equipment and supplies; establishing clinical affiliates; developing program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; academic advisement and registration; classroom/clinical teaching assignments; preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports; attends various professional development activities; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. This position requires participation on college committees. Other duties as assigned.
