Position Information / Cobb Senior Services is establishing an assistive technology (AT) lab on-site for the purpose of increasing awareness and access to devices and technology that will allow individuals to live more independently and age-in-place.
This is a grant position. The grant period ends on September 1st, 2017 for a maximum of 200 hours.
The position will end when the grant runs out. This position is assigned to the Cobb County Senior Services Department.

Essential Duties / The Assistive Technology intern will assist the set up and installation of the AT at the lab
Provide demonstrations of AT in the lab.
Provide education about AT in the community,
Assist with data collection to evaluate project effectiveness.
Interacts with older adults and community groups on behalf of Cobb County Senior Services.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student or graduated within the last six months.
Public speaking and computer skills are required.
A resume’ and cover letter is required when applying for this position.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications / Knowledge/experience of assistive technology devices, durable medical equipment, and/or training in occupational science, occupational therapy, clinical rehabilitation counseling or similar field. A currently enrolled or recent graduate of an occupational science program, occupational therapy, OR occupational therapy assistant program, clinical rehabilitation counseling program, or similar program is strongly preferred.
