I. Overview
This position requires a variety of skills necessary for biotech company operations. The position is expected to follow procedures with periodic direct supervision. The position is responsible for accurately performing and documenting established procedures.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities: This position will perform a variety of laboratory procedures to support cGMP Manufacturing. The position will perform daily work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner.

Qualifications

III. Position Requirements:

Education or Equivalent:

• MS in Biotechnology, or related field with no previous industry laboratory experience

• B.S/B.A. in Biotechnology, or related field with at least 1 to 3 years experience in a laboratory environment

• Associates Degree/Certificate/Diploma in laboratory science with minimum of 3 years experience in a laboratory

Experience:

• At least 1-3 years in a biotech laboratory setting

• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting stirred vessel bioreactors and/or protein purification and/or molecular biology cloning and sequencing techniques

• Aseptic technique experience

• Mammalian cell culture experience is preferred

• Preferred – HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, HPLC, cIEF and ELISA experience, and/or Microbiology testing

• cGMP documentation practices

• Experience writing standard operating procedures

• General laboratory equipment experience, including micropipettes

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

• Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs to everyday work with regard to documentation and instrument use

• Ability to cross-train on techniques with another group

• Familiarity with applicable regulatory authority and guidelines

• Demonstrates a basic theoretical understanding of the work tasks assigned

• Ability to utilize MS-Excel or MS-Word to perform basic calculations, tabulate data and prepare data

• Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instructions; ability to clearly communicate with supervisor and group members as necessary

• Ability to complete assignments in expected time frames and independently seek out additional work when tasks are completed ahead of time

• Ability to be involved with trouble shooting and problem solving in order to learn possible solutions and problems

• Ability to initiate and draft deviation forms if necessary
