Bellevue Community Schoolsis seeking a turnaround Assistant Principal/Interventionist who is fully devoted to the success of every child, to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. REPORTS TO:K-6 Principal/Superintendent

SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

●Achieve results by taking risks and thinking outside the box;

●Ability to motivate others and influence their behaviors;

●Competence to collect and analyze data sources to inform decisions;

●Create and sustain a well orchestrated system of ongoing data collection and analysis to inform a continuously responsive and adaptive system of tiered instruction attentive to students’ specific academic needs.

●LEAD: through the leveraging of the district systems and routines, while maintaining a drive for results by demonstrating persistence, directness, and the ability to monitor and plan ahead.

●Exert influence by prioritizing student learning needs over the barriers of customs, routines, and established relationships.

●Ensure a strong connection between learning goals and classroom activities through observation and feedback loops with every teacher.

●Foster collective responsibility and ownership for ever-increasing student achievement, through shared leadership and a professional environment of respect, teamwork and accountability.

●Create student-centered environments that establish relationships and promote positive student behavioral expectations, conducive to all learner’s needs, through structured routines and positive behavioral interventions.

●Prior experience working with students from disadvantaged background.

●Administer a system of ongoing data collection and analysis, through collaborative routines, to inform a continuously responsive and adaptive system of tiered instruction.

●Partner with District Testing Coordinator to plan and administer district assessments, in accordance with district timelines and guidelines, that informs the performance management system for the purpose of the equitable allocation of resources.

●Knowledge and experience with best practice literacy instruction, including readers and writers workshop.

●Partner with HIL Facilitator for implementation of High Impact Leadership (focus on implementing the GELN Literacy Essentials and the Reading Now Network) at Bellevue Elementary.

●Foster growth in individuals for the purpose of building turnaround competencies and developing analytical thinking, conceptual thinking and problem solving.

●Leverage the district leadership network remaining open to coaching, collaboration, and professional dialogue.

INSTRUCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:Have an extensive knowledge of the district visions for high quality, subject specific instruction and the capacity to coach teachers for growth in instructional practices.

MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT OF PROGRESS: Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to gather data to monitor instruction.

REFLECTION, COLLABORATION, AND PERSONAL GROWTH:Reflect on practice in collaboration with colleagues, monitor personal and professional growth, and pursue professional development in needed areas.

QUALIFICATIONS--REQUIRED:

  1. Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree, Master’s with Admin Cert Preferred
  2. Working on continued education.
  3. Understanding of Restorative Practices beneficial.
