ASSISTANT PEIMS COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Purpose:

Assist the PEIMS coordinator in coordinating the collection and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data and Pentamation implementation.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Records and Reports:

  1. Assist in coordinating the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to PEIMS Data Standards.
  2. Assist in working cooperatively with campus, business office, and human resources staff to collect, organize, and format data required for submission of district PEIMS data in a timely manner.
  3. Assist in running edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.
  4. Assist in distribution edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
  5. Assist in submission of complete and accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA) prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing using a computer terminal or personal computer.
  6. Assist in verifying data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
  7. Assist in maintaining student management system parameters for the District.

Training and Technical Support:

  1. Assist in providing training and support to campuses and to business and human resources staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
  2. Assist in providing onsite support for new personnel.
  3. Assist in receiving PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, and disseminate to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
  4. Attend all regional PEIMS workshops and disseminate information to appropriate staff as assigned by the PEIMS coordinator.

Other:

  1. Assist in complying with policies established by federal and state law, State board of Education rule, and local Board policy.
  2. Assist in compiling, maintaining, and filing all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
  3. The Supervisor or his/her designee may assign other duties and accountabilities limited to those consistent with the applicable job function and pay grade.
