Green Leaf Productions, Inc. (greenleafvideo.com) is a multi-award winning production studio founded in 2004. We take pride in the fact that our greatest asset is our family of employees, many of whom have previously worked on national television and theatrical release projects. Based in Bethlehem, PA, we are currently looking for area students with a passion for film, television, or commercial production to intern with us.

We are looking in three areas, graphic design (2 openings), editing/post production (2 openings), and story production (1 opening). All positions are open all year long (fall, spring, and summer semesters), for 25+ hours per week (part-time). All are unpaid.

Graphic Designer

Description

Interns filling this position would be working with GLP graphic designers on various projects (in both 2D and 3D) as they come in, including corporate projects, commercials, and television/film projects (as needed).

Requirements

Applicants for this position should have at least a basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites (After Effects, Photoshop, etc.) and other graphics programs. Applicants should be majoring in graphic design, with an ultimate goal of working in marketing, television, or film.

Assistant Editor/ Post Production Assistant

Description

Interns will be assisting GLPs editors and post supervisor (as needed) on miscellaneous tasks including, but not limited to: ingesting footage, stacking and grouping footage, and basic stringouts.

Requirements

Applicants should have a basic understanding of post editing programs. In-house, we use Avid Media Composer, so experience specifically with that program is preferable. A basic understanding of DVDStudioPro and Sorenson Squeeze are also considered a plus, but are not mandatory.

Story Production Assistant

Description

Interns will be working with story producers and production managers on multiple tasks in the office and field. These may include, but are not limited to: story production assisting; acquiring, organizing, and filing clearances and releases; making cold calls; assorted on-set tasks; and note-taking.

Requirements

Applicants for this internship should be majoring in television, film, production, or mass communications. Applicants should be working towards a career in television, film, and/or commercial production.

Graphic Design Intern

Based in Bethlehem, PA, we are currently looking for area students with a passion for film, television, or commercial production to intern with us.

Currently, GLP is working on multiple documentaries, television shows, commercials, and more. Interns in this position would be assisting our Graphic Designers with projects in 2D and 3D.

Learning Objectives/Goals:

Students will be able to work constructively in an office environment, including building positive relationships with coworkers, contributing in meetings, and taking direction and constructive criticism.

Students will be able to transition skills learned in a classroom setting into daily use in the production industry.

Student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in multiple programs and transition between them.

Students will assist in designing assets to be used for both print and motion, helping in the actual animation of 2D/3D elements as well.

Students will prepare animations for specific video projects and may assist in designing lower thirds, titles, and other animated elements that would live in a video project.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Most animation will be done in Adobe After Effects so a basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites (After Effects, Photoshop, etc.) and other graphics programs is required.

Basic understanding in composition, typograhpy and rhythm.

Students will learn how to ingest media properly after a shoot, do any and all conversions if necessary to media and multi-group multi-cam footage in Avid.

Students will learn how to stay organized in a post production environment: this inlcudes working with new media on the servers and Avid projects in addition to keeping track of old drives and media on those drives.

Students will learn how to proxy footage in Avid

Students will assist Story Producers and Editors with Avid stringouts for current productions in commercials as well as documentaries and television series in both the production/post-production and development stage.

Students will learn the clearance and release process and will assist both in the field and in post production in getting clearances needed, filing and logging as required for each project.

Students will assist Producers and Post Producers in research for acquired materials as needed for various documentary and television series projects.

Students will assist on set during productions in a Production Assistant role to get a better understanding of the day to day responsibilties in the field. This includes assisting Field Producers, Coordinators and Managers as needed with scheduling, crew meals, etc.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Students should be currently studying Television, Film or Broadcast Communication with a concentration in Production.

Student should have an interest in pursuing a career in television, film or commercial production.

A prior working knowledge with an editing system such as Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere not a requirement, but a plus.

Student should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
