Assistant Division Controller

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Division Controller will assist the Division Controller and will be responsible for monitoring financial performance and assisting the Division Controller in the preparation of annual business plan. Responsibilities include ensuring internal controls are adequately designed, documented, tested and compliant with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Act (SOX); performing financial due diligence and SOX readiness; implementing internal controls evaluation to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting standards. The Assistant Division Controller will report directly to the Division Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Consolidate the monthly segment financial results
  • Coordinate forecasts and budgeting for the division
  • Ensure internal controls are adequately designed, documented, tested and compliant with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Act (SOX)
  • Facilitate implementation of financial systems and processes to align with NN standards in the areas of finance, accounting, internal controls, and ad hoc reporting
  • Develop/enhance, implement, and enforce policies, procedures and systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the division
  • Establishing financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Provide financial support and vetting of planned synergies and integration milestones
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of five years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge with strong US GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Familiarity with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other regulatory compliance is essential
  • Experience with internal controls compliance required
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally as needed

Desired:

  • Masters’ of Business Administration degree, a plus
  • CPA, a plus

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external constituencies
  • Ability to clearly present recommendations/ideas and to summarize complex issues
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential material
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
