New Staff

Miss Amie joined ATC in January. She is a great asset to The Tiger Room. Please welcome her to our team!

Assistant Director

Miss Erin has been in her new role as Assistant Director for a month and she is doing a great job. Her hours will be 9-6 everyday so she will be available for questions at the end of the night when Tina or Jen are not available. With Miss Erin working up front, Miss Jen will be scheduling more of her time into the classrooms during the day. Miss Erin is working hard at making sure our child files are current and up-to-date. Thank you for completing and returning the required state paperwork in a timely manner.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Miss Rachel, Miss Lori, Miss Darcie, Miss Leah M., Miss Jaymie, Miss Becky, Jocelyn(1), Alexis(1), Eylas(3), Libby(3), Wyatt(3), Stella(3), Drew(5), Cashton(5), Claire(7), Amanda(8), and Carter G.(8). If you would like to bring in a treat for your child’s birthday, please check with your child’s teacher about what would be appropriate based on allergies in the room. Just a reminder that we are a nut free center so we can not have any items with nuts.

President’s Day

Just a quick reminder that ATC will be closed on Monday, February 16th for staff development training. We have training days twice a year to give us the opportunity to meet as an entire group for the day. The second training day will be held October 12th this year. Weekly tuition is charged at regular rates. Thank you for supporting our team.

Apple of Our Eye

This past month’s winner of the “Apple of Our Eye” award went to Miss Monica in The Monkey Room. Our team really enjoys hearing all the great feedback. Please continue to fill out forms when you see something spectacular. Our next team meeting will be held on President’s Day. Forms are available up front.

Summer/Fall Schedules

If your child’s Summer or Fall schedules will be changing, please return your form to the office or write it in the parent communication binder at the front desk. If nothing is changing, you do not need to return a form. Speaking of summer, we are working on our summer calendars for the Monkeys, Zebras, Lions and Explorers. If you have a hidden talent you would like to share with the children this summer, let us know and you could be a guest speaker for the class.

Appleton Education Foundation – Brain to Five Series

Last year, the AEF partnered with leading experts from the Waisman Center to offer a speaker series on brain development in early childhood. This year, the focus will be on the latest research on environmental influences and how they affect a young child’s growth and development. We will once again offer free child care to our families and to the community. Presentations are free and open to the public and early-childhood experts. If you are interested in attending on February 18th, the presentation will begin at 7:30 pm and it will be held at Appleton East High School. There will be one presentation each month through May. There is an article on the parent board with more information.

Parent Feedback Night

Parent Feedback Night will be held on March 18th. This is a very informal meeting where we share feedback about your ATC experience. We will have several topics up for discussion including putting together a parent board. The meeting will run from 5:00 – 6:00 pm and it will be held in the School Age Room. Your children are welcome to stay in their classrooms on this night until after the meeting. The 10 hour rule will not apply on this day. Please sign up at the front desk if you are interested in coming and if you need childcare so that we can staff appropriately.

Calling all Scrap Bookers

We would love to host an all day Scrap Event. If you love to Scrap but can never find the time, come and join us on Saturday, March 21st from 9am – 4:00. We will put a sign up sheet at the front desk if you are interested. Just bring your supplies and a dish to pass for lunch and we will accomplish a few pages throughout the day and have fun at the same time.

Book Orders

Thank you for ordering through Scholastic Book Clubs. With every order we send in, our center receives free books for the classrooms. This month the order is due February 11th. If you place your order on-line, please submit it before

11:00 pm or the system will not allow it to be processed.

February Family Event

We would like to invite your family to the first annual sledding party. It will be held on Sunday, February 22 at 3:00pm at White City Park in Kaukauna. The park has many different size hills to accommodate all ages. We will supply treats and cocoa for everyone who attends. If you need directions, see Miss Carrie in the Bear Cub Room.

Diaper Rash Ointment

Recently we had a little friend with a bad diaper rash. One of our parents tried a new concoction that worked wonderfully. We thought we would share it with you.

**Mix together a ½ tube of Desitin and 2 Tablespoons of Malox. Then mix in corn starch until the mixture becomes pasty. Keep the mixture at room temperature.
