Assessment Task: Year 7 Ancient Civilisations

You will work as a group to complete a project about one of the following ancient civilisations.

-Ancient Egypt

-Ancient Greece

-Ancient Rome

Each person in the group will create a piece of the 'jigsaw' for their Ancient Society and will report back to the whole class as an oral presentation with posters (on A3 paper) that can be stuck together to create a wall for that ancient civilisation.
C Task:
One person from each group completes a project about a differentaspect of the ancient civilisation.

Daily Life (occupations, family and foods)
Religion, beliefs and burial customs
Education (include systems of writing)
The role of women
Law and justice
Art and Drama

Architecture (buildings)
War and warfare
Myths and Beliefs (ancient Greece)
For each section the person completing it must have..
-framed key research questions to help their discovery (who, what, when, where, why, how)
-compared how that aspect of life was similar and different to life today using a venn diagram.
-Completed the relevant source evaluations
-refer to at least one primary source in their presentation
B Task
Research and analyse the ways that ancient civilisation has influenced our life today. Explain your answer. What might our world be like if that ancient civilisation had not existed?
A Task
Create a diary entry from the point of view of one of the following people living in one of these ancient civilisations. Include their perception of the world around them, what they think of others and how they feel about their own life and future.
