UNIT:Every Picture Tells a Story
UNIT OVERVIEW:Students will be immersed in a variety of short narratives in order to explore the generic structure and language features utilised in narratives.
ASSESSMENT:Narrative assignment in response to stimulus.

Recall seven main parts of story structure and briefly outline the features of each part.

2 (1) / To identify and apply descriptive devices (verbs, adverbs, adjectives) to make writing more vivid. / Use descriptive devices to paint a vivid picture in the readers’ minds.
Achieve 100% success on class activities identifying and using verbs, adverbs and adjectives in writing.
3 (2) / To identify and apply figurative language devices to make writing more vivid. / Define and identify similes, metaphors, personification and onomatopoeia and can use original examples in writing.
