Dear Sacred Heart School Families:

I hope that you are enjoying your summer. The office staff and I have been busy closing out the school year and preparing for 2015-2016. Please carefully read all of the information contained in this mailing.

This school year brings a number of changes to SHS. A number of families from St. Alexander School have transferred to us, after the closing of their school in June. I know that you will join me in welcoming them and helping them to feel like a part of the SHS family. On a separate sheet, you will find information about our new staff members. Also, for the first time, we will begin offering a full-day preschool program. Our 5th – 8th grade students will once again have Spanish on Fridays. We will be offering hot lunch on two days each week, provided by WT Café. These are all changes that will help our school to grow and become even better.

I am very pleased to announce that as a result of our recent visit by a team from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Sacred Heart School has received full recognition status. This process involves gathering artifacts and exemplars of compliance with all ISBE requirements for nonpublic schools, inspection of these documents by an ISBE team, an inspection of the school physical plant and interviews with the principal. Sacred Heart School was in full compliance with every requirement, and received several commendations from the ISBE team. This is truly something to be proud of. It takes many individuals to make this happen. I am so thankful for our pastor, our School Board, our staff and our families. Working together, with God's help, we make great things happen for kids!

Information regarding tuition and fees can be found on the school website Book and Technology Fees are due prior to the start of school. You may mail a check to the school, if that is more convenient for you.

The school office will be closed during the last two weeks of July due to the summer cleaning. Until then, we are open 8:00-1:00, Monday-Thursday. In August, we will resume regular office hours of 7:30-3:30. If you have any questions, please call the school office.
