Artist Slater Barron Visits Santiago Canyon College
WHAT: The Santiago Canyon College Speakers’ Symposium is pleased to welcome famed artist
Slater Barron to the campus on Thursday, May 22, 1:30-3 p.m. in room E-203. Barron, also known as the “Lint Lady,” creates two- and three-dimensional work from a conceptual foundation, often using recycled media. Some of her work is created entirely from upholstery and dryer lint, such as a 48” x 36” dryer lint portrait of Princess Diana.
Barron’s work has brought her widespread recognition, including an art review in “Time” magazine and several television appearances. She has created commissioned work for Ripley’s Museums around the world, installed tableaux and mounted solo exhibitions at the invitation of art galleries, universities and museums throughout the U.S. Come enjoy learning “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Slater Barron.” This event is free and open to the public—seating is limited.
