Calvary’s Cure

1 Peter 2:24

  • Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

-Calvary provided a double cure – it provided salvation and healing through the spotless blood of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.

-When Jesus spilled His blood on the cross of Calvary, the price was paid in full, not only for your salvation, but also for your healing and everything that you need.

  • Jesus did 4 things:

-Suffered as our example

-Committed His cause to God

-Bore our sins in His own body

-Submitted to stripes to heal men

  • Jesus bore the punishment due our sins –

-That we might be free from sins

-That we might live unto righteousness

-That we might be healed

  • Physical healing is part of the redemptive work of Christ. By His stripes

-Isa. 53:5

-Matt 8:17

The most common asked question is: “Is it God’s will for me to be healed?”

-As a child of God, you have the right to walk in His healing power.

How do you apply or appropriate God’s healing power?

-By speaking His Word and allowing it to sink deep within your spirit (Romans 10:17 “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”

  • Some understanding about “healing”

-Health was natural and eternal before the fall – Gen. 1: 26 – 31

-The first recorded healing was by the prayer of a prophet – Gen 20: 7, 17

-God made covenants with His people to heal them – Ex 15:26, Deut 28, James 5:14

-God has always kept His covenants and has healed multitudes by spiritual means – Psalms 103:3, 105:37

-Spiritual means to heal is all that God promised and commanded – Ex 15:26, Psalms 91

-Healing was promised on condition of obedience – Lev 26, Deut 28

-God permitted Satan to afflict sinners and even His own people when they go astray, to bring them to repentance – Job 33: 12 – 30, Psalm 38, Gal 6: 7-8

-God always healed when lessons were learned and men repented – Gen 20:7, 17; James 5:14-15

-Healing is part of the work of the church – Matt 10: 1-8, Acts 1:1-8; 1Cor 12; James 5: 14-15

-Healing is provided as part of Christ’s atonement – Isa 53: 4-5; John 10:10; Rom 8:11; Gal 3:13; 1 Pet 2:24

The Power of declaring God’s Word is so important to your healing. Your words speak volumes into the spirit realm. As you begin to declare by the words of your mouth, how it shall be, then like a light turned on in a dark room, the Word of God becomes larger that life on the inside of you.

-Psalms 107:20 – He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

-Through the filter of His Blood, Jesus, our Great Physician, invades the arena of our affliction and removes the pain and disease invading our body.

Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6: 2)

-Salvation means healing, deliverance, prosperity – whatever you need

Therefore, do not allow anything or anyone to stop you from receiving your salvation, healing, and deliverance. When the doubters come knocking saying “God does not heal today” proclaim Hebrews 13:8 _ Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
