Today’s Hottest Cash Machines

Historically, the entrepreneurs are the ones who break away from the pack, and bring to the forefront a resiliency that pulls our nation out of a recession and into growth and prosperity. These people have always been the lifeblood of America. Columbus didn’t discover America so we could all get jobs! This nation was originally built by entrepreneurs who were willing to devote themselves to a particular cause. Together, we can get America back on its feet by bringing forth the entrepreneurial spirit that is the foundation our country was built on and a legacy that has been handed down by our forefathers.

Today, the service industry, real estate, and networking are the three areas where you will find your hottest Cash Machines. How can you apply your skills into one particular area that will allow you to have your own personal Cash Machine, and a piece of the American dream? Think about what’s going on around you each and every day. How can your skills and talents be utilized for profit? Think of what people and businesses need becauseof the current economy.
Consider these ideas:

Foreclosures are up: 80,000 houses were abandoned in the U.S. just in the past month!Banks might need people to maintain properties.

There have been large numbers of layoffs.People looking for work need all kinds of services, like résumés, computer training, and headhunters, just for starters.

As the old adage goes, “You can always count on death and taxes.” It might sound morbid but there are many services people who have lost loved ones could benefit from.Services such as someone to organize estate sales, or box items for charity, or a person to help prepare homes for listing.

To avoid layoffs, many people are working longer hours, and staying at their desks all day. They need to eat and drink. They might love to take advantage of a quick chair massage. Delivering coffee and sandwiches, morning or afternoon snacks, or something completely different like organizing a group of massage students to make rounds at office complexes to give 10-minute massages for $10. You make the appointments, they give the massage, split the revenues.

Here are some ideas I got by looking on Craigslist to see what other people are doing right now in cities all over the United States. There were some really good ideas! Take a look for yourself sometime soon:

Weekend Redecorator: This smart cookie says she can redecorate your living space with items you already have in one day for a flat rate!

Hire My Husband: Handyman couple on call for a flat per-hour rate.

Used Car Inspection: I love this one. If you’re a mechanic, you really could do well with a few ads in the local classifieds in the paper and on Craigslist! What a great side gig for the right person and a great service to those not so mechanically inclined!

Packing and Unpacking Service: People hate to pack when they have to move. Help make this transition easier for them.

Leaf Removal: This is something anyone can do. All you need is a rake and some leaf bags! If you have a green thumb, you can add seasonal services, too.

Seamstress/Taylor: An ad catering to those who are losing weight and can’t afford new clothes might be a niche you could easily fall into if you’re good with a needle and thread.

These are just a few ideas to get you started. In this economy, I encourage you to think service-based businesses. Get a list of 1,000 Cash Machine ideas at LiveOutLoud.com.

Think through your set of skills. What do you do now (or have done in the past) that brings in money? What’s on your résumé? How can you apply that to today’s market?
Big businesses and small businesses alike are looking for ways to save money. Consumers are looking for much of the same. How can you help them do that? What can you do? How do you fit in?

Remember, not all businesses will do well in economic downturns. Think niche. It’s a Cash Machine — you need to be using your resourcefulness muscles.

Everyone has the ability to do something today that will earn extra money. People ask me all the time, “What can I do?” The truth is that it’s different for each of us. What we need to be doing is asking ourselves what we’re doing already that can bring in extra cash.

For you moms out there who are already schlepping the neighborhood kids around to school and other activities, it’s time to ask for the cash!

For those of you who have a hobby, like quilting, don’t just give away those quilts. Put an ad up on Craigslist and sell them. Ask for the cash!

Realize that your Cash Machine is not your dream business (it could be, but for most it’s not). A Cash Machine is a business that creates continuous streams of cash flow, which is then re-invested. Your goal is to have multiple Cash Machines. So don’t get stumped with trying to fit or find your passion in business. You’ll have plenty of time for that when you’re in a cycle of wealth.
