Previous Work – Please attach up to 5 labelled JPG images to your email application. The images should be saved with the following file name: ‘Surname_ImageNumber’. Enter the details for each image below. NOTE: This competition is for artists at all stages of their career. It is NOT necessary to have previous work.

Artist Statement (150 – 200 words):Summary of your artist practice.

Proposal (200-300 words): Please include reasons why you have applied for the commission? What type of piece you intend to create and what ideas you would explore in your work? Please include the medium of art you wish to create.

Entry Requirements

  • Entrants must follow the competition theme, detailed in the brief.bit.ly/YMC_Art
  • Competition is open to student, amateur and professional artists.
  • Entries are open to individual artists and collectives.
  • Photography is included, however video is excluded.
  • Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome.
  • You must apply online. All applications must be submitted as digital files. 1-3 proposal ideas may be included in the proposal section.
  • Image requirements for entries: JPG files and must not exceed 1MB. There is a maximum of 5 images which can be accepted for the application.
  • Artists must be 18 and over to apply.
  • Competition applicants are limited to UK and Ireland only.

After Application

  • Applicants will be reviewed after the deadline and 3 -5 artists will be invited to an interview. They will be asked to provide a completed budget worksheet and see the space provided for the piece.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by email/phone and invited for an interview.
  • Interviews will be held In July.Travel expenses, with receipts provided, will be covered.
  • This commissions will be worth £700.00 which shall cover labour and materials.
  • IOM3 has links to material specialists throughout the UK. The Younger Members’ Committee will make introductions between the artist and any appropriate companies who can assist with technical advice/facilities/fabrication of the piece
