Art & Artifacts Fair/Historical Bike Ride

Help us celebrate May Preservation Month by participating in the Lee’s Summit Art and Artifacts Fair & Historically Themed Bike Ride Saturday, May 16, 2015, in the City Hall Lobby from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The ¼ mile bike ride will begin on the south side of City Hall on 3rd St. at 1:45, and end at the new Lee’s Summit Historical Society Museum located at 220 SW Main St. The event is sponsored by the Lee’s Summit Historic Preservation Commission, in partnership with the Lee’s Summit Historical Society.

·  Share the history of Lee’s Summit’s 150th Birthday by displaying your memories with photographs or artifacts. Items will be on display May 16 during the Art & Artifacts event, held in conjunction with the City’s Equipment Show and opening of the Centennial Time Capsule!

·  Bring your items with a completed entry form and waiver form to City Hall during the business hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays by May 8, 2015. Items may be picked up by appointment through Ron Seyl (816-969-1603). There is no limit on the number of historic artifacts to submit.

·  Or, pull out your bike, including those vintage bikes! Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes. Adults dress as your favorite historical era or character and show it off as you ride downtown to the Lee’s Summit Historical Society Museum from 1:45-2:00 p.m.
