Arrival Time:5:45 a.m. at Klinger Middle School

♪Get to school early. “To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late!”

♪As soon as you get to school, do the following:

-Get instrument, music and anything else you need for trip.

-Check your name off on the appropriate bus list.

-Sit in correct section of auditorium.

-Wait for more directions!

Departure Time: 6:00 a.m. from Klinger Middle School

Arrival Time:7:30 a.m. at Neptune High School

♪Unload Instruments (cases remain on the bus)

♪Go to Warm-up room or to auditorium to watch performances.

Performance-

♪7/8 Band7:40 a.m. Warm up, 8:00 a.m. Performance

♪Concert Choir8:00 a.m. Warm up, 8:20 a.m. Performance

♪Chamber Orchestra8:20 a.m. Warm up, 8:40 a.m. Performance

♪Jazz Band8:40 a.m. Warm up, 9:00 a.m. Performance

Depart for Six Flags Great Adventure: 9:30 a.m.

Arrival at Six Flags Great Adventure: 10:00 a.m.
Enjoy the Park! Hurricane Harbor is not open on Fridays in May.

Report and departure: 5:45 p.m.at the busses

DO NOT MAKE EVERYONE LATE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT TELL TIME!!!

Estimated Departure from Six Flags: 6:00 p.m.

Estimated Arrival at Klinger: 7:30p.m.

♪Please help unload instruments.

♪All drums need to be taken into the building, do not leave anything on the bus!

** If the weather is extremely bad or if they close the park we may come home early. In the event we come home early we will have students call their parents before we leave the park. **

What to Bring

For the Bus Ride:

Bagged Lunch (to eat after the performance), unless you can wait until we are at the park.

IPod/DS games /MP3 player (bus will be locked, do not take these items into the park)

Book/Homework (for you studious types)

For Performance:

Music

Instrument

Accessories (valve oil, extra reeds, mallets, rosin)

For the Park:

Spending Money (no more than $50)

Small bag for belongings to take into the park (do not bring electronic equipment into the park)Only bring what you will carry the entire day (no one will carry your stuff for you)

** Important to remember- Six Flags does not let you leave any items unattended when you go on rides!! Bring money for lockers.**

Sun block, Hat, Sunglasses

Poncho/rain jacket (in case of rain)

What to Wear

There will be numerous performing groups in the park that day and each group has a specific shirt they wear to identify themselves. Klinger has a specific t-shirtwe will wear for our performance and in the park.

Performance Expectations

We want to have a great performance and it begins with great behavior on the bus and at the performance venue. Listed below are some things to keep in mind as we prepare for our performance.

-Listen to directions

-You will only bring your instrument & music into the school. Cases will remain on the bus.

-There will be a small warm-up room where we will tune and mentally focus for our performance.

-Once in the warm-up room there should be NO talking.

-Ms. Lenox, Ms. Duchene, Mrs. Tyson, Mrs. Cupoor Mr. Goppoldwill give you directions in regards to where we will set-up and perform.

-Percussion section will help set the stage for the performance.

-While on stage & in warm-up please remain quiet.

-Play/Sing your best & watch your director!!

-After the performance you will be directed to the bus to load your instrument.

-The faster we load up the quicker we get to park!

-While we watch other groups perform please be respectful and applaud for all the groups.

Behavior in the Park

You have worked very hard to have this opportunity do not spoil it with inappropriate behavior in the park. The chaperones have been instructed to report any bad behavior to your music teachers. If a student becomes a problem, his/her parent/guardian will be called to pick that student up from the park. Remember you are representing Klinger and the community. Listed below are some guidelines to follow while in the park.

-Stay with your chaperone at all times.

-Groups may travel together but, at no time should a student switch groups.

-Inappropriate or vulgar language will not be tolerated at ANY time.

-NO student may go off alone or leave the park at anytime without their chaperone.

-Follow all rules/regulations of Six Flags at ALL times.

-Be polite. Use good manners. “Please” and “Thank You” go a long way.

-All students must ride the bus to and from Six Flags.

First Aid Station

If immediate first aid is needed, ask any Park employee for assistance. If you get split up from your group and cannot find your group, report to the first aid station and they will contact Mrs. Tyson/Ms. Cupo or Mr. Goppold.

All chaperones will have phone numbers for the First Aid station and music teachers in case of an emergency.

Leaving/Staying Permission Slip

We understand that some students may have a need to leave the trip early or would like to stay late with a parent/guardian. If that need should arise, the parent/guardian of the student would need to fill out this permission form BEFORE the group leaves Klinger Friday morning.

1.)If a student is leaving early, please notate at approximately what time you will need to meet. Student will be accompanied with a teacher to the main entrance of the park.

2.)If a student is staying in the park with a parent after we depart, please meet your student at the check-in meeting place (large fountain) at 6:45pm. Student must retrieve all items off the bus before they are excused.
