MINUTES
ANNUAL MEETING
Thursday, May 14, 2015, approximately 1:30 pm
101 East Capitol, Little Rock, AR
Conference Room C
President James Terry Woodard called the meeting to order. Members present were: Vice President Bobby Thurman, Bobby Burns, Jerry Adams, Patricia Roberts, John Wilkerson and Ben Brazzel. Staff that were present: Amy Goode, Executive Secretary, Leslie Stokes, Inspector, and Nina Carter, Board Counsel.
President Woodard introduced the Board to the parties present.
Motion by Burns to approve the May 2014 Annual Meeting Minutes, seconded by Adams, all in favor. Motion carried.
Motion by Thurman to approve the May 2014-May 2015 Secretaries report with amendment added to July 2014 concerning the crematory permit hearing for Conner-Hankins in Mountain Home, seconded by Burns, all in favor. Motion carried.
President Woodard took nominations from the floor for the At-Large position currently held by Jerry Adams. The Board received the following nominations:
· Jerry Adams
· Sandy Rogers
· Garland Camper
President Woodard inquired if there was any old business and there was none. President Woodard called for new business and there was new business brought before the Board.
Mr. Woodard explained there was some individuals present that wanted to speak to the Board concerning the location where Arkansas Funeral Care had previously been licensed. Joseph Matt Robinson from Cabot, AR, President of RPS Ventures, Inc. is seeking to reopen in the old Arkansas Funeral Care location. They are seeking to open not with the same name or same people. They are purchasing the assets and would like to present their application to the Board today. Former Representative Mark Perry is Vice President and Logan Perry are among other investors. Stan Youngblood will be their manager, who is dual licensed. Mr. Robinson stated there would never be a Wood on staff or as an investor. Mr. Robinson assured the Board that neither one of the Woods nor previous investors are a part of their company. Mr. Adams stated he had known Matt for years, known him to be a reputable person and trust what he says is fact.
President Woodard directed the Executive Secretary to forward the nominees names to the Governor’s office.
Motion by Brazzel to adjourn annual meeting, seconded by Burns, the meeting was adjourned.
