Minutes from Previous Meeting

Minutes from the August 3, 2015 Board Meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report as of April 30, 2015(attached) was approved.

Sheila Krueger received a charge for the Star Chapter bill in the amount of $1,200. Judy will reimburse Sheila for the charge and Paul will ensure that future billing is directed to the Treasurer.

Board Member Resignation – Bob announced that Ed Desjardins has submitted his resignation, effective immediately. The Board believes that future meetings are in place for the remainder of 2015.

Bob is going to follow up with Michelle Demetrius regarding her interest in working on the Programs Committee. We would also like to get Kevin Collins and Ryan Sanders engaged in ATRA for 2016.

Programs for the Remainder of 2015

  • November 5, 2015 – Preparing for the DOL – Proposed Changes in FLSA Overtime Regs. This meeting is a panel discussion facilitated by John Lomax with 3 panel members (Nancy Dougherty, Margaret Dyekman and Lori Smith).
  • December 10 – Holiday Event at the University Club of Phoenix. We have not confirmed entertainment (still considering mariachi band); Judy and Korin will finalize food as it gets closer.

Membership Update

Korin reported that, to date, we have 126 members, which is excellent.

2016 Membership Dues

We agreed to again offer the Early Bird pricing for 2016 membership and increase it slightly. 2015 dues was $50, unless you renewed early for $40. For 2016, the dues will be $60, unless you renew early for $50. That amount is still a great value for the programs and events we offer.

Member Survey Results/Highlights

Overall, the respondents (42% participation) seem quite satisfied with ATRA. Compensation Topics had the most interest for 2016. The respondents also seem interested in a ½ day seminar. They do not seem particularly interested in Comp 101. There was low interest in volunteering for ATRA.

Suggested topics for 2016 programs were Compensation Technology; Variable Pay and Hot Compensation Topics.

We discussed asking David Cichelli to conduct a ½ day workshop on Trends in Compensation. The proposed cost would be $75. We will ask David which month would work best for him. We also discussed location and proposed the Hilton and the Phoenix Country Club; although, it may be expensive.

Connie, Korin and Bob will work on a list of proposed topics from the survey.

SHRM and HRCI Credits

Connie is going to pursue SHRM credits for our meetings, in addition to the current HRCI credits. Connie will get back to Bob and Judy regarding the cost and details surrounding this addition.

Next Board Meeting is scheduled for December 2, 2015.
