1.4PERFORMANCEREQUIREMENTS

  3. Allexternalareasofthecladdingshallbeaccessibleformaintenanceandrepair.

a)Loadstobeadjustedasnecessaryforthetypeandorientationofmaintenanceequipmentanticipated.TheContractWorkshallsustainsafely,andwithoutdamage,accessandspecifiedmaintenanceloads.

  1. Incorporateseparatorstopreventbimetalliccorrosionwhen deemed necessary by manufacturer.

B.GeneralPerformance:

  1. Complywithperformancerequirementsspecified,asdeterminedbypreconstructiontestingrepresentingthoseindicatedforthisProject.
  2. ContractWorkshallasspecified:

a)Withstandandaccommodatethestressesandmovementsinducedbythespecifiedcambers,estimateddeflections,relativedeflectionsandthelongtermmovementsassociatedwiththesettlementofthefoundations,oranyothermovementsofthestructure,changesintemperatureandchemicalchanges.

b)Includesuitableallowancesforthespecifiedconstructiontolerances.

c)Withstandthespecifieddeleteriousanddegradingeffectsofradiationfromthesun,weathering,atmosphericpollution,vandalism,vermin,fungiandothergrowthsfortherequiredservicelifedescribedhereinwithoutmaintenanceinexcessofroutinecleaningandminorrepairs.

d)Havearesistancetocombustionandfirespreadappropriatetoeachpart.

e)CleaningandmaintenanceoftheWorkshallbecarriedouteasily,withoutinterferingwiththefunctionofthebuilding.

1)ThetermsbelowusedinconjunctionwithfinishGuaranteearedefinedasfollows:

2)“Resin color retention”: Change of color should be maximum 5 delta E over and above the initial 1.5 delta E allowable under section 074450, 2.1, A, 3, over the equivalent of 5 years.

3)"Excessive non-uniformity":meansnon-uniformfadingduringtheperiodoftheguaranteetotheextentthatadjacentpartshaveacolordifferencegreaterthantheoriginalacceptablecolorrange.

4)"Willnotpitorotherwisecorrode":meansthereshallbenopittingorothertypeofcorrosionoffinishdiscerniblefromadistanceoften(10)feet,resultingfromthenaturalelementsintheatmosphereattheProjectsite.

3.1EXAMINATION

  1. Verifythatsupportframinghasbeenconstructedtoallowaccurateplacementandalignmentofanchorbolts,plates,dowels,orotherconnectionstostructure.
  1. Priortoinstallationverifyallfielddimensions. Reportdiscrepancieswhichcouldaffectinstallation. Donotproceedwithinstallationuntildiscrepanciesarecorrected.
  1. Beginningofinstallationmeansacceptanceofexistingconditions.

3.2ERECTION

  1. Installcomponentsinaccordancewithmanufacturer'sinstructionsandapprovedshopdrawings.
  1. LiftingandPositioning:LiftFRPcompositeswithsuitableliftingdevicesatpointsindicatedonapprovedshopdrawings.
  1. Setcomponentslevel,plumb,square,andtruewithintheallowabletolerances.
  1. Temporarilysupportandbracepanelsasrequiredtomaintainposition,stabilityandalignmentuntilpermanentconnection.
  1. Donotallowcomponentstobecut,trimorinanywaychangetheshapeorconnectionlocationswithoutexpresswrittenpermissionordirectionfromthemanufacturer. Providerevisedcalculationsandshopdrawingsintheeventarevisionisrequired.
