CTE Community Contributor of the Year:
Ken Wright, Ken Wright Cellars, Yamhill Carlton High School
Ken is one of those special visionaries of the world who makes his ideas become a reality with his immeasurable passion. He started with a concern that there is a shortage of quality workers in viticulture and that many youth in his community no longer desire to stay in the region. He proposed the unthinkable – starting an integrated vineyard management and horticulture curriculum in the high school. Ken has been indispensable in promoting and expanding the Agriculture Program at Yamhill Carlton to include a viticulture program. This is the first high school program of its kind in the United States.
