Archery GB Is Pleased to Launch the Small Grants Scheme for 2016Aimed at Supporting And

Archery GB is pleased to launch the small grants scheme for 2016aimed at supporting and developing disability archery. The funding has been madeavailable through:

  • Sport England, as part of Archery GB’s Whole Sport Plan

(2013-2017) and,

  • The Worshipful Companyof Fletchers

As such, this funding scheme is only available for open clubs/organisations in England.
The funding scheme for 2016 has only strand:

  1. Disability (open to ontargetArchery GB clubs, county archery associations, local councils, county sports partnerships, education establishments, other relevant agencies and not-for-profit organisations)

Criteria

The funding scheme has been established to encourage and support the development of new projects. We are particularly seeking projects that target increasing the number of people participating in archery and helping more archers shoot more often. The funding therefore willhave the following priorities:

Projects that will increase the number of disabled archers shooting at least weekly by either:

  • enhancing the archery experience for current disabled participants (i.e. additional shooting time, coached sessions, competitions) and/or
  • better skilled coaches or instructors delivering archery opportunities for disabled people and/or
  • increasing opportunities for more disabled people/groups to take part in archery

Guidance

Engagement, promotion, sustainability and exit routes will be important elements of each project we select.

We expect to get more applications than we can afford to fund so we will prioritise those projects that we believe will have the greatest impact.

Grants will be awarded in the region of £200 - £1,000. Due to the limited amount of funds available organisations are expected to contribute a minimum of 25% of the

total project cost as match funding (this could be from club funds or other sources). Any additional funding (cash or in-kind) from applicants, other organisations or other grant awarding bodies is encouraged.

Organisations/clubs may join together to make an application.

Examples of items we can fund include:

  • Non-personal equipment purchase or hire (i.e. equipment that is not used just by one person); training coaches and/or volunteers; venue hire; volunteer activities, marketing and promotion.

Grants willnot be awarded for:

  • Projects that have already started, repeat or regular events, existing running costs, fundraising activities, or individual’s equipment.
  • We cannot give grants for construction or refurbishment of buildings or purchase of land; however we will grant fund facility hire in order to develop projects.

Conditions of grant

  • Any archery clubs involved in the project must be affiliated to Archery GB, be members of ontargetand have completed (or be willing to commit to complete) one or more of the self-assessments for an ontargetSpecialism.
  • Applications MUST be received before any project starts and be delivered within 6 months.
  • A short written report including data collection and photosmust be completed and submitted at the end of the project. This is so we can develop case studies to promote successful projects and support other clubs & organisations.
