NPS Aquarius System Overview Documents and Videos

The following NPS documents and overview videos have been created as training tools to demonstrate some of the basics of the Aquarius Whiteboard and Springboard interfaces and how they interact with the NPS’ Aquarius Database. The documents and videos are meant to supplement the on-line help and videos produced by Aquatic Informatics. The Aquatic Informatics support portal at http://aquaticinformatics.com/main/%3FSupport_Login provides a variety of ‘How To’ videos for both Whiteboard and Springboard. To log into the Aquarius 360 support portal, you’ll need a username and password which can be obtained via an email request to . Once you can log in, click the AI Training Video tab.

Note: The current (04/25/2016) Aquarius version installed on the Fort Collins ‘GETT1’ server is Aquarius v3.10 Update 3.

To ensure satisfactory video playback, verify that:

·  The Windows Media Player is installed

·  Screen resolution is set to at least1024x768

(right-click your desktop, click Properties,

click Settings, and use the slider control to

set the resolution)

·  Speakers are on with the volume up.

Notes on Windows Media Player:

Once the video image appears, it should start playing. If not, click () to begin playback; click () to pause playback. Click the view full screen icon () to enlarge the screen for optimal viewing. Press ‘Esc’ to exit full screen mode.

Useful Materials for Advanced Users:

Item / Description
Powershell_API_Examples.zip / Example Windows Powershell scripts that use the Acquisition API to add locations, dataset containers, and results with notes, flags, grades, and approvals. Also includes a script to delete a specified range of data at a location.
AquariusAccess.zip / Microsoft Access application that uses the Publication API to download and restructure data. Downloaded data can be filtered by a date range, can include approval, grade, and/or interpolation codes (the API doesn’t presently support flag or note retrieval), and be raw or corrected. Each time series can be a dataset or the datasets can be concatenated by row or by column.
