AQUARIUM CLUB
Advisor: Mr. Flint
The aquarium club designs, builds and maintains the school's aquariums. We breed fish, raise coral and attend aquarium conferences where we sell the fish and coral raised at the school. Meetings are after school and during Bank in room F115.
ART CLUB
Advisor: Mrs. McDonough-Varner
Art Club will be open to all students in grades 9-12, regardless of current enrollment in art courses. Students will work independently and collaboratively on small and large scale art projects during club time.
BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS
Advisor: Mrs. Flint
Club members work with coordinators from The Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Susquehanna Valley to mentor and tutor elementary students within our district.
BILLTOWN BANNER
Advisor: Mrs. Mahon
The student newspaper publishes news, opinion, features and sports. The paper develops a marketable skill for writers, illustrators, photographers, and desktop publishers. It is written, illustrated, designed and printed by students.

CHERRY AND WHITE
Advisor: Mr. Murafka
The literary magazine is an annual publication produced by a volunteer staff. The staff creates and accepts submissions of poetry, fiction, essays, and other genres, as well as artwork. The magazine exists as a place where student writers, artists and photographers can display their work. The Cherry and White is Pennsylvania's oldest continually published school magazine.
CLASS EXECUTIVE BOARDS (2013-14)

Class officers are elected by classmates and members of the class board are volunteers. Officers must maintain a cumulative average of 85 or above while executive board members are required to maintain a cumulative average of 80 or above.
CONCON
Advisor: Mrs. Hutchinson
A 2 day convention held at Lock Haven University whereby students represent state delegations in an effort to write legislation to possibly "change" the constitution. It is not a recreation of the 1787 convention, but more so an adaptation of that process to the present.
CONSTRUCTION CLUB (PA BUILDERS)
Advisor: Mr. Williamson
The WAHS Construction Club is a National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Student Chapter, which is required for industry endorsement by the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA). The WAHS Construction Club is open to any student who is enrolled in the Construction Trades Program levels 1, 2 & 3.
Mission:

DRAMA CLUB

With exercises in pantomime, script work, improvisation; school dances, plays, and trips to New York City we allow kids to express themselves and have fun while making new friends.
FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
Advisor: Mrs. Wimer
It isn’t just the suit-and-tie kind of business club. There are over 52 different competitions ranging from agri-business, public speaking, computer and computer programming, entrepreneurship to digital video production and social media campaign.

FFA (Future Farmers of America)
Advisor: Mrs. Etzler
Students promote agriculture through career development events, community service and supervised experience projects in a nationally-recognized program. Students must take Horticulture to be an FFA member.
GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance)
Advisor: Mrs. Nardella
The GSA proposes to make students aware that individual differences among people should be respected. The GSA’s primary focus is to combat any and all discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation, race, religion, and or gender. The group strives to create a supportive group for all students and invites all students to join regardless of their race, creed, nationality, physical disability and/or sexual orientation.
GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS CLUB

For students who wish to develop an interest and awareness of the Graphic Communications program at the Williamsport Area High School.
INTERACT

Interact is a service organization to help the school and the community and the world.

INTERNATIONAL CLUB
Advisor: Mrs. Lang
Celebrate several significant holidays a year show-casing the history, culture, and food of a particular area. Welcome our international and exchange students to our school and community with a variety of different events and activities.
KEY CLUB
Co-Advisors: Mrs. Takach & Mrs. Schefsky
Key Club is a student-led organization focused on service and leadership. Club members have opportunities to organize and participate in community service, fundraising and an annual leadership development conference.

LA MEMOIRE STAFF
Advisors: Mrs. McCloskey/Miss Pish
The Yearbook staff is combined with business publications to offer students a unique opportunity of showing off multiple talents that involve: photography, writing, interviewing, and networking with small businesses in the community. Students will work together for a few months to create a scrapbook, capturing priceless moments that will last a lifetime.
MAGIC: THE GATHERING/STRATEGY GAMES
Advisor: Mr. Habalar
This club is open to all grades and will include playing the card game “Magic: The Gathering” as well as strategy board games like Axis and Allies. Even if you have never played these games you are welcome to attend to learn.
MILLIONAIRE MARKSMEN
Advisor: Mr. Soars
Students will have the opportunity to join the North-South Skirmish Association and shoot Civil War rifles, muskets, carbines at a national shooting match held in Winchester, VA twice each year as part of the North-South Skirmish association (www.n-ssa.org). Interested students must bring a parent or guardian and provide funding and transportation for each event. Random small-bore practice sessions may be held throughout the year, based on student/parent availability. There are countless opportunities for our students to compete in a variety of additional marksmanship activities throughout the Susquehanna Valley- parents interested in volunteering their time to make this happen should contact Mr. Soars at the following email address: .
MODEL U.N.
Advisor: Mrs. Hutchinson
The task is to examine contemporary world issues and problems and find solutions, as the United Nations would do so. We write resolutions and debate resolutions at the mock Model U.N. conventions. Open to all students.
ODYSSEY OF THE MIND
Advisor: Mrs. Moore
Students involved in Odyssey of the Mind, a creative problem solving competition,will have time to develop their long term solution to one of five "long term" problems. They also will practice for the "spontaneous" portion of the competition. This activity develops creativity, team work, innovative thinking and also may involve dramatic, artistic, engineering, costuming, and set building skills.
PTSO (Parent, Teacher, Student Organization)
Advisor: Deb Detrick,
Our purpose is to develop a strong bond between educators, parents, students and the community. We do this by facilitating communication via our:
· Open house in September where students have an opportunity to showcase their clubs and organizations
· Our PTSO meetings which are held 4 times a year (Sept, Nov, Feb, and April at 7pm in the school library) where we encourage student participation and the sharing of ideas
· PTSO Web site located on the WAHS site, with updated Monthly highlights
· Monthly e-newsletter called Millionaire Messages containing important dates from school events, guidance…, Club & Organization updates (their fundraiser information) with links to WAHS sports schedules, the school website, PTSO site and more.
We also provide recognition and scholarship awards, support for student activities, and support for school & faculty projects.
To receive club credit students must attend meetings, and help on membership, fundraising, hospitality or special project committees (often by assisting at PTSO table at events).
PETROS
Advisor: Mrs. Seeley
Petros provides students who have similar beliefs in Christ with an opportunity to fellowship in a non-denominational Christian atmosphere and to meet the student’s spiritual needs.
PUBLICATIONS BUSINESS

This group covers the business end of things for the yearbook such as solicitation of ads, sales and distribution of the magazines and books.

RECYCLING CLUB
Advisor: Ms. Morgan & Mrs. Conklin
Open to all students. Groups of students walk around to the designated recycling drop off locations throughout the school and take the accumulated recyclables to the loading dock and dump it. We also hope to make a recycling "how to" video and decorate the bins for recycling.
RED CROSS CLUB
Advisor: Mr. Eck
The Red Cross Club works closely with the leadership of the local Red Cross organization to be actively involved in the Williamsport community. We organize and do student registration for the fall Blood Drive for the Red Cross and help on donation day. We perform a routine at the Montoursville haunted house each year and won second prize last year. We volunteer at local hospitals and other charity events in and around Williamsport. We go to elementary schools in the district to do “scrubby bear”. In addition, we raise as much money as possible for Relay for Life (last year taping Mr. Reed to the wall) and have a booth at the Relay itself.
Members can become trained “CPR” instructors that will teach classes throughout the community in Red Cross provided apparel. A great new opportunity this year that could help any student prepare for the real world of work or college.
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
Advisor: Mr. Kutz
A student centered organization doing activities that support students in making positive decisions. Some of the activities include Red Out for Safety, Ghost Out, Fund Raisers, Conferences, Toys for Tots and Prom Promise.
SGA (Student Government Association)
Advisor: Mr. Freed
The Student Government Association is an important organization at our school. We represent the needs and concerns of the entire K–12 student body to the School Board, work with high school faculty and administrators to improve the WAHS learning community, plan school spirit events, conduct all elections for the school and organize and participate in community service projects.

STEM CLUB (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)
Advisor: Mr. Sarge
Open to all students, 9-12 grades, who have an interest in science and/or engineering. PURPOSE: STEM Club allows students to explore, investigate and discover STEM subjects in a stimulating learning environment away from the constraints of the school timetable or a prescribed curriculum. The blub allows students and their club leaders to work together and explore many different ideas and activities.
SKILLS USA

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives; working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. It helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations. SkillsUSA was formerly known as VICA (the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
SkillsUSA is open to students in any Career and Technical Education, Family and Consumer Science, Health Occupations, or Business courses. Students will learn how to be professionals in their chosen career path. Students will also compete against students from other schools in Skill and Professional competitions.
STUDENT AMBASSADORS
Advisor: Ms. Sieber
Ambassadors are fellow students who serve the school community by assisting new students in the transition process. Specifically these students will serve as tour guides to new students, information resource, and role model to others. In addition, these students assist in providing assistance for various programs in the school when called upon.
UPWARD BOUND
Advisor: Mrs. Heckel
Upward Bound meets once/week after school focusing on college planning issues such as career development, college selection and admissions, and financial aid. Membership is by application. Upward Bound is a federally funded student group administered by Lock Haven University.
VIDEO GAME
Advisor: Mr. Dewire
This new club will allow members to teach themselves and work with other members to create video games. Sploder, then Gamemaker8 will be the starting point with YouTube videos and online tutorials serving as guide. From there students may progress onto Blender, Unity3D and the Unreal Development Kit. As the club grows, new hardware and software may be purchased.
