Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr Darren Hickman as a new Non-Executive Director to the Trust Board. Mr Hickman was appointed on 1February and his term of office will run until 31 January 2017.He will serve as theCommittee Member for Charitable Funds, Remuneration, and Audit and Assurance Committees.

Talking about his newly appointed role, Mr Hickman said: “I am excited at being appointed and very much looking forward to becoming an active member of the Trust’s Board. I have lived in the Leicester area all of my life and pleased to be able to serve the local community in this manner. My employer, Santander, is committed to supporting communities in which we do business and so very supportive of me performing this role. ”

Mr Hickman has worked for Santander Bank for over 30 years, holding a number of senior executive positions, including audit, operational management, finance and IT. In his current role, as Relationships and Finance Director, he is responsible for strategy, financial and commercial management of the bank’s insurance business in the UK.

During his time with Santander, Mr Hickman has also served as Pension Trustee and Non-Executive Director on behalf of the bank. He is a Chartered Associate of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB).

LPT Chair, Professor David Chiddick, welcomed Mr Hickman to the role by saying: “We are pleased to welcome Darren to the Trust and the wealth of knowledge and experience he will bring to the role. He will be a great asset to the Board and I look forward to working with him.”

Mr Hickman will join a board of seven non-executive directors (including the chairman), four executive directors (including the chief executive), and four other Board directors (non-voting). See the Trust website for details.
