NEWS

MMJ REPORTER (Full Time Regular):This is a rare opportunity to join the front line reporter team at FOX13, Tampa’s leading news station. Must have fully developed and polished reporting skills, (with 3 years’ minimum experience). Must be fully engaged on the air and behind the scenes.Must be able to, and actually enjoy covering the biggest stories from the field. Must thoroughly embrace the concept of shooting and editing on your own. Solid shooting and editing skills a must. The qualified candidate must be a seasoned storyteller with strong editorial skills and exceptional social media skills. Must be able to produce content online, and be a proven leader in the newsroom and out in the community. Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in journalism.

FEATURE REPORTER (Full Time Regular):Fox13-WTVT Florida’s news leader is looking for a feature reporter. We are looking for someone with a strong on air personality and presence. The right candidate will have solid live abilities and be able to capture and hold an audience. Solid writing and social media skills are essential. A minimum of 5 years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in journalism. This is a newly created position and is a rare opportunity to land a “dream job’ covering all things.

PRODUCER – 2 Positions (Full Time Regular):Qualified candidate must be creative and energetic. Must work as part of a team to produce the very best newscasts in the market. Must be well informed and well read. Must be able to take chances and try new things. Must be able to write copy and create graphics that capture the viewer’s attention. Must be unwilling to produce newscasts in the same old way. Must also be able to provide social media and web content. Must possess five years television news writing and producing experience. College degree in journalism or equivalent. Must be creative, concise, attentive to detail and able to handle deadline pressure. Must possess excellent news judgment and knowledge of Tampa Bay area. Dependability, strong writing skills and accuracy are crucial.

GA PHOTOGRAPHER (Full Time Regular):Fox13-WTVT Florida’s leading broadcast and digital team is looking for an experienced photographer. The qualified candidate must beself-motivated, creative storyteller with strong photographic, editing and editorial skills. Candidate must have strong lighting and audio skills as well as working knowledge of P-2 camera systems and Edius editing system. Ability to operate a variety of ENG vehicles and equipment including microwave and portable bonded cellular units. A minimum of5 years’ experience as a photographer/editor in a television newsroom preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. College degree in journalism or equivalent experience preferred.

ENGINEERING

BROADCAST TECHNICIAN (Full Time Regular): Responsible for operating the iTX Master Control (MCR) automation system. Ingests material into the system, oversees the system while on air, and ensures quality of the system’s output to air. Deals with the centralization Hub in all matters pertaining to the iTX system. Responsible for all ancillaries MCR devices while at work. Fully versed in the operation of the Fox Splicer. Knows when to deal with it locally or when to communicate with the Hub or with Fox TOC. Handles Live Events such as sports events and breaking news including the Join in Progress that follows. Identifies and troubleshoots technical problems. Assist News with ENG and Satellite feeds when needed. Maintains high degree of quality control for digital channels. Performs FCC required compliance procedures. Maintains accurate transmitter and QCR logs. Handles calls immediately from viewers with closed captioning and reception concerns. Ability to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team. Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school preferred. A minimum of 2 years’ equivalent experience. Ability to work nights, overtime, weekends and holidays.

PRODUCTION

ELC DIRECTOR/TD (Full Time Regular): Direct/Technical Direct newscasts.

This position will be responsible for directing newscast, promos, and special productions utilizing Sony ELC automation, MV800G video switcher, camera robotics, Teleprompters, automated audio, iNews, BitCentral, and Chyron graphics system. Work in tandem with producers to monitor and adjust commercial breaks in iTX automation, in assembling show rundowns in iNews, camera blocking and talent placement, set lighting and design, props, audio support and strategy sessions and post show debriefing with production techs. B.S. or B.A. Degree in television broadcasting, production/engineering preferred. Five years’ experience as a Director/TD in commercial television with heavy emphasis on fast paced, newscasts with multiple remotes. Working knowledge of all control room and studio equipment as it relates to live newscasts. Sony ELC automation experience preferred. Must be flexible with days and times and able to work weekends and holidays.
