WA Signs of Safety Gathering - Presentation Nomination

The Department for Child Protection and Family Support is organising the fourth WA Signs of Safety Gathering.

The event will be held from Tuesday 25 to Thursday 27 October at Technology Park Function Centre, Bentley.

This year the themeis “Reflect, Reboot, Renew”,representing the Department’s focus for the Signs of Safety Child Protection Practice Framework.

You are invited to submit a nomination to develop and deliver a presentation for the Gathering.

We are looking for presentations that use practical case studies and:

  • describe the use of the Signs of Safety approach in your District / Work Unit.
  • describe the difference made for practitioners, children and families.
  • run within a 25 minute time limit – this will be strictly enforced.
  • capture practice which the District / Work Unit and practitioners feel proud of, and which expresses their energy and enthusiasm!

Staff from the Department’s Learning & Development Centre (LDC) will be available for technical support and advice.

Important Notes

  1. You will be notified about the outcome of your nomination by Friday 22 April.
  1. By your District / work unit Director agreeing to support your application, your manager/supervisor is agreeing to give you the time to prepare, attend the event and deliver your presentation. You should negotiate the time you require for preparation with them before submitting your application.
  1. If your nomination is accepted you will be sent information about:
  1. Consents you need to obtain from presenters and subjects of presentations.
  2. Formatting to use for your presentation (e.g. aspect ratio and font sizes for PowerPoint).
  3. Equipment provided at the venue for you to use in delivering your presentation.
  4. Material required and due dates for you to submit it.
