Expectations of Scholars

As mentioned above, in addition to the core criteria for eligibility on the courses, each sporting organisation will set criteria for awarding scholarships.

It is a requirement that Scholars remain active within the sporting field at the level and fulfilling the criteria set by their body for the duration of the programme.

The basic requirement for on-going scholarships from HiberniaCollege will be that students are required to pass their end-of-year exams and/or any other formative or summative assessments, including teaching practice where applicable to the programme of study. No other academic achievements will be required as core by the College.

In addition, the College will require that Scholars act as positive ambassadors for the College, making a commitment to participate in a selection of the following:

•Provision of written quotes and testimonials for use in marketing and promotional materials, including press releases.

•Provision of video testimonial for HiberniaCollege website in order to promote undergraduate programmes.

•Appearance at promotional events/information days, as permitted by their schedule.

•Image to be used in any print or online advertisements for the undergraduate programme.

Note

•Scholarships are on offer to candidates applying for courses starting in Autumn 2012 only. This will be reviewed subject to demand for future intakes.

•HiberniaCollege reserves the right not to award scholarships if the overall calibre of candidates is not felt to be suitable for the award.

•In the event that Scholars fail to meet professional or academic standards set by the College and sporting organisations, the College reserves the right to withdraw scholarships for subsequent years.

The decision of HiberniaCollege is final and there are no grounds for appeal.
