Application Lifecycle Management – WebGate Customization

The WebGate Customization dialog box contains the settings for the WebGate Client component. The settings are maintained in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Mercury Interactive\TestDirector\WEB_CLNT_DEBUG and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Mercury Interactive\TestDirector\WEB registry keys.

Proxy Customization area

·  Use a Proxy Server check box

If the ALM client/OTA script is using a proxy to connect to the ALM server, in the Proxy Port text box, enter the proxy server port. In the Proxy Server text box, enter the proxy server I.P./machine name.

·  Use IE Proxy Settings check box

The Internet Explorer proxy setting will be used for the ALM client/ OTA script connection to the ALM server. This option is mutually exclusive with the Use a Proxy Server option.

·  Bypass Proxy Server check box

When this option is selected along with Use IE Proxy Settings or Use a Proxy Server, the proxy settings are bypassed.

Proxy Credentials area

·  Proxy Username, Proxy Password, Domain text boxes

When Use these credentials check box is selected, enter credentials for the proxy server to automatically load. Relevant if you selected the Use a Proxy Server option.

·  Always ask for credentials check box:

When selected, a dialog box opens, enabling you to enter credentials for the proxy server.

Web Server Customization area

·  Web Server Username, Web Server Password, Domain text boxes

When Use these credentials check box is selected, enter credentials for the web server to automatically load.

·  Always ask for credentials check box

If the ALM client/OTA script is using a web server authentication to connect to the ALM server, a dialog box opens, enabling you to enter the credentials for the web server.

WebClient Log area

·  Write Client Side Log File check box

A log file for the WebGate component will be saved to the specified path.

General HTTP Settings area

·  Connection Timeout text box

Set the timeout in seconds for the HTTP connection between the ALM client/OTA scripts and the ALM server.

·  Enable HTTP Compression check box

HTTP traffic from the ALM server to the ALM client is compressed with a standard HTTP compliant gzip compression.

Save button

Saves the settings to the registry.

Close button

Closes the dialog box.
