Essential Requirements
Have an understanding and knowledge of issues affecting students in higher education
Have a commitment to, and can easily explain the benefits of, working with volunteers
Experience of using standard Microsoft Office applications or similar
Comms: Ability to communicate effectively with key relevant people
Effectiveness: Ability to manage workload, delivering high quality work on time
Great Service: Ability to deliver an excellent service to internal and/or external customers
Reliable: Being consistently on time, carefully following agreed procedures and practices
Desirable requirements
To have been a member of the Students’ Union Buddy Scheme
To have been involved in the Language Café as a Language Café Leader or Volunteer or an attendee
Have experience of being a volunteer, particularly in a student environment
Experience of organising events, trips and activities
Have an understanding and knowledge of the voluntary sector
Have experience of managing or supporting volunteers
Have experience of managing staff
Experience of using social media channels, and an understanding of their application in a professional context
