V. Additional Materials (items 1-4)

1. Statement of 700-1000 words. Indicate your academic interests, your career objectives, and how these interests and objectives suit you to graduate study at Texas Tech. You may also include other information that would be helpful to those reviewing your application.

2. Writing sample. Applicants in literature should submit a graduate course paper or part of a thesis that shows capacity for analytical writing and scholarly research (20-25 pp.). Applicants in creative writing should submit a prose piece (10-20 pp.)or a collection of poems (10 pp.).

3. Resume, CV, or List of Publications and Awards. This document will be necessary to nominate you for university fellowships and scholarships.

4. Letters of Recommendation. Please have the three recommenders named above send their recommendations as email attachments to . Please inform your recommenders whether or not you have waived your right to see the letters, as indicated above.
