__General Board Member: Read articles and proposals, attend roundtable discussions and General Board meetings, and participate in source pulling, line editing and technical editing. The General Board is the journal’s backbone, making critical contributions to the journal’s core functions. General Board members participate in our vibrant article selection process, brainstorm ideas for solicited content, learn valuable skills as editors, and contribute to the progressive intellectual community that defines CR-CL.

Editorial Board Positions:

__ Managing Editor - Events: Assist the Editors in Chief and other Managing Editors with all events programming, but with a specific focus on the Annual CR-CL Symposium.Plan events with the journal's advisors, authors and other civil rights and civil liberties academics and practitioners from around the country.

__ Communications Director: Manage the communications strategy for the journal, including the journal’s social media presence. Work with the Managing Editors for Events and the Executive Editors for Online Content to connect with alumni and ensure we are effectively communicating the journal's scholarship to different audiences.

__ Executive Technical Editor: Coordinate technical editors, contribute to the CR-CL style guide, and finalize technical edits on articles. Interested applicants should enjoy editing, be highly organized, and be very familiar with Bluebook rules.

__ Article Selection Editor: Screen outside articles, lead roundtables with General Board members, and determine which articles should proceed to a full General Board vote. Interested applicants should have a strong critical eye, enjoy reading legal scholarship, and be capable of facilitating debate and discussion.

__ Online Content Editor: Research and write several blog posts each semester on the Amicus blog about civil rights and civil liberties issues. Write news round-ups and post links to articles addressing developing issues in civil liberties. Promote blog posts on social media and other blogs. Be self-motivated and have strong research and writing skills.
