Are you interested in stage management?
Do you want to become an SMA Professional Member
but dont quite have the references?
Do you volunteer with an amateur theatre company?
Or would you simply like to support the work of the SMA?
For information on what SMA Membership can do for you, read on:
1: What does it offer?
INFORMATION: The SMA quarterly magazine Cueline brings news and views about stage management; it is packed with informative articles on theatres, jobs, props, websites, trends in stage management and the performing arts in general; new legislation affecting the theatre and the putting on of shows. The SMA also produces an eDiary every Friday and publishes factsheets and guides available FREE to all our members, available in the members exclusive section of the SMA Website.
NETWORKING & EVENTS!! Meet others with similar interests at our regular member events including exclusive backstage tours and seminars.
TRAINING: The SMA offers a range of practical courses and seminars throughout the year run by working professionals at discounted rates for members.
PRACTICAL ADVICE: The SMA was formed by stage managers for stage managers. If you are working in the amateur sector we know the problems you may encounter and can offer advice or simply someone to talk to. If we don’t know the answer, we know a member who does.
REPRESENTATION: The SMA is the only body in the UK exclusively representing stage management. We take the concerns of the profession to the right people; make the collective stage management voice heard. The SMA raises the profile of stage management and the issues that affect it.
