Applications are invited from eligible sports persons for the following sports discipline in Grade Pay 1900 on Western Railway as under:

Sports Achievements Eligibility Norms :
(A) Represented the Country in the World Cup (Junior/ Senior), World Championships (Junior/Senior), Asian Games (Senior) & Commonwealth Games (Senior) OR
(B) Represented the country in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior)/South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Senior)/ USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior) and obtained at least 3rd position. OR
(C) Represented a State or equivalent unit in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships and obtained at least 3" Position OR
(D) Represented a State in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association and obtained at least 3rd position OR
(E) Represented a University in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3" position OR
(F) Represented a State or equivalent Unit in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category) and obtained1st position.

All Championship should be conducted under the aegis of recognized International/National/State Sports Federations and also recognized by the Railway Sports Promotion Board.
In team sports, only sportspersons who have actually played in the sports field shall only be eligible. Therefore, a sportsperson who represents as member of a team in any recognized sports event/championship but has actually not played in the field, shall not be considered for recruitment against sports quota. Accordingly, candidate will have to produce a certificate showing that he/she has actually been a playing member.
A Sportspersons can be considered for recruitment only for event/position/game advertised in which he/she has recognized sports norms.
2.AGE LIMIT:Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/07/2015.
3.Only those sportspersons who have acquired the sports achievement eligibility norms in the Championship after 01/04/2013 and are active will be eligible to apply for appointment against Sports Quota. For validity of sports achievement, concluding day of the championship/event shall be taken into account.
4.Examination Fees:
a. Indian Postal Order for Rs. 100/- for Group ‘C’ post in PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200+1900 (GP) . Postal Order should be drawn in favour of Western Railway Sports Association, Mumbai which is non refundable.Postal orders issued before the date of issue of Employment Notice (i.e. ) will not be accepted, and such application form will be rejected and amount forfeited.
b. Exemption from Examination Fees:
SC/ST, Women, Minorities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zorastrians {Parsis}) and economically backward classes candidates are exempted from examination fee. Economically backward classes mean the candidates whose family income is less than Rs. 50000/- per annum. The following are authorized to issue income certificates in given format ‘A’ :i. District Magistrate or any other Revenue Officer upto the level of Tehsildar ii. Sitting Member of Parliament of LokSabha for persons of their own constituency. iii. BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme or Izzat MST issued by Railways iv. Union Minister may also recommend to Sr. Sports Officer for any persons from anywhere in the Country. v. Sitting Member of Parliament of RajyaSabha for persons of the District in which these MPs normally reside.
5. Selection Procedure : All eligible candidates will be called for Trial and after Trial only the FIT candidates will be called for Interview. Candidates declared NOT FIT by the Trial Committee will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee. / 6.How to Apply :
Application as per format given alongside with two passport size photographs should be addressed to Sr. Sports Officer, Western Railway Sports Association, Headquarter Office, Churchgate, Mumbai-400 020.Last date of Receipt of Application is /0/2015 up to 17.00 hrs. After this, no application will be accepted. Railway will not be responsible for any postal delay. Applications should be sent by ordinary post only in a closed envelope or to be dropped in the application box provided for the purpose in the Headquarters Office upto 17.00 hrs. on /2015. No acknowledgment at the counter will be given. Application sent by courier / by Registered A/D or Registered Post will not be accepted. Any discrepancy found in the application and papers submitted by the applicant will render the application invalid. On the top of the envelope “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2015-16” should be superscribed.
7.Note: Kindly bring Original Documents of Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, and Sports Achievement on the day of trial and interview, without which you will not be allowed to appear in the Selection. No TA/DA/Accommodation will be given for appearing in the selection trials/interview. You will have to bring your own kit and also two- passports size attested photographs. You may also be required to stay during the selection for 2-3 days, for which you have to make your own arrangements. The Railway Administration has all rights reserved to fix any date, as deemed suitable, change place or postpone trials/interview (at its own convenience), which can also be cancelled due to unforeseen causes against which no claim will be accepted. All documents should be attested. Selected candidates will be posted anywhere on Western Railway.
8. The decision of selection committee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
9. The candidates would be selected for employment only if they fit in the WRSA team.

11. For any legal issues arising out of this employment notice, the jurisdiction shall be under Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Mumbai only.
