Application for Non-Profit Grant Funds up to $1,000.00

Eligibility Requirements – (To be considered for a grant, a non-profit organization must meet the following requirements):

  • Be chartered to do business in the state for charitable purposes.
  • Be exempt from paying federal income taxes (not necessary if an individual is applying)
  • If a not-for-profit organization, must have an active board of directors.
  • Have by-laws or policies that describe management policies, audit policies, fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Have at least one year’s experience with the service or activity for which the funding is sought, or otherwise demonstrate sufficient expertise to carry it out successfully.
  • Provide direct benefits to the people of Hawaii through services or activity, by addressing educational concerns, culture and the arts, the needs of the youth or the elderly, and health and human services.

  • Copy of exemption certificate from Internal Revenue Service
  • List of names, titles, addresses of officers and members of the Board of Directors
  • Financial Attachments – General organization and program budgets (Attach as Appendices).

on a monthly or as-needed basis.

  • List of persons providing services and managing activities to be funded and include their qualifications.
