Timeline for IFC 2016 Elections

  • Applications are due Monday, November 16th to the F&SL Office at 5:00pm.
  • Elections will be Wednesday November 18th 2015 at 12pm in Upper Student Congress Chambers.
  • Please prepare a short speech of why you are interested in the specific position(s).
  • 2016 officers will be installed on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.

Expectations of CouncilOfficers applicants are agreeing to the following by submitting an application for election, failure to follow these expectations can result in removal from the Executive Board:

  • Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and not have any major disciplinary issues with the University.
  • All officers must be on timeand attend weekly General Body meetings to be held on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 pm.
  • All officers must be on time and attendweekly Executive Board meetings to be held on Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm.
  • Maintain at least 2 office hours in the Fraternity & Sorority Life office each week.
  • Fulfill the job responsibilities of your position as outlined in the UT Arlington IFC Bylaws and Constitution.
  • Attend all council hosted events as well as Fraternity and Sorority Life hosted events.
  • Represent your Counciland the Fraternity and Sorority community with respect always.
  • Must be a team player and willing to work with fellow CPH, IFC, and MGC, NPHC officers, as well as F&SL staff, constituent groups, and University Administration.

Required Events, Trainings, and Dates:

Dates:

  • UT Arlington IMPACT Retreat for F&SL Presidents and Council Officers January 14-16, 2016
  • Fall Leadership Retreat, September 2016
  • Additional dates for IFC Exec and Delegate Training/Retreats, Recruitment Training, New Maverick Orientation sessions will be shared when possible

Events/Programs

  • Attend Council Officer trainings and meetings (all events will be scheduled with two weeks’ notice)
  • Staff the IFC table for New Maverick Orientation, summer 2016. Must be available for the summer months.
  • Support all Fraternity and Sorority Life Office events (Welcome Week events, All Greek Kickoff, etc…)
  • Additional training dates and/or events may be added as needed

Eligibility and Application Requirements

To be eligible to serve as a Council Officer, a student shall meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
  2. Be in good standing with their fraternal organization
  3. Applicants should not serve as President or Recruitment Chair of their chapter while serving as a Council Officer where there is a conflict of interest that may occur.
  4. Any additional requirements as outlined in your Council’s documents.

Please Note: If applying for the Vice President of Standards position you must be available for weekly F&SL Standards meetings on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m.
