Instructions for online applications for exchange studies at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Application for exchange studies during the university year 2011-2012

The window of application for exchange studies is open from 29 September 2011 to 10 October 2011.

General information about online applications

You can return to the main menu at any point in filling in the application by choosing 'cancel' or 'menu',

You can suspend the application process whenever you like since when you log out, the application is automatically saved. You can later return and fill in the remaining information in the application by logging in with your user name and password, so write down and keep hold of these. If the application is open but inactive for a longer time, you will be automatically logged out and any unsaved changes will be lost.

Please note that the online application is only the first step in the application process. Your application is not complete before the signed paper copy and all enclosed documents have arrived at the International Office of the School of Business, Economics and Law.

Application

To make your online application for exchange studies, please follow the three steps below.

Step 1: create a user account

Create a user name and password. Save this information! After your account has been created click on 'next' to begin your application.

Step 2: Application

  • Log in to start the application
  • Personal details: It is very important that the information you fill in is correct since we will use it to contact you. If you have a temporary address, indicate which dates it is valid for.
  • Current studies:

Fill in here what you study at the School of Business, Economics and Law

Matriculation number – fill in your Swedish Personal Identity number

Faculty/school - choose School of Business, Economics and Law

Field of study – choose Graduate School from the roll-down menu.

Currently enrolled in – fill in which Master programme and eventual specialisations which you are registered on.

Priority of application – Did you also apply for an exchange through the University of Gothenburg? In this case it is important to fill in here which of the applications you want to give priority, the one at the School of Business, Economics and Law or at the University of Gothenburg. Note: Only if you are accepted at your first choice will your other application be cancelled.

Nr of years studied prior to mobility

  • Preferred Mobility:

Here you choose the universities for which you wish to apply. List them in the order of your preference. 'Preferred Mobility 1' will be your first preference and so on.

Add additional host universities by clicking on 'more'. You can apply for up to 5 host universities electronically. If you wish to apply for more, write them down on the last page of your printed application which you send in to the International Office. Rank the additional universities from 6 and onwards.

Mobility type – Choose 'studies'. No other type of exchange is arranged by the International Office of the School of Business, Economics and Law.

Mobility at partner institution – Click on 'yes'- The International Office of the School of Business, Economics and Law arranges exchanges with our partner universities only.

Choose the country for your exchange. Then choose the university in the roll-down menu under ''institution'.

Please note that you cannot study all subjects at every one of our partner universities. Please control this first on our web page before making your choice. A list of our partner universities and which subjects can be studied at each university can be found at under the headline 'current students, Exchange studies'

For every host university you choose chose which semester(s) for which you wish the exchange to take place. Please note that there are differences between universities in when and for how long they can host an exchange student. For every host university you chose you should also choose which subject you wish to study.

  • Language skills :

List here the language skills you have which are relevant for your exchange. If you are uncertain about how to judge your level, there is a link on the web page to a document with definitions of each level.

  • Declaration of Consent:

If you are awarded a place at one of our partner universities, we would be pleased if the next year's students could contact you to get information about the university where you have been. We will not however give out your personal information to others against your wishes.

Step 3: Send in your application electronically.

You must complete then entire application in order to send it. Only when all obligatory information is filled in will the 'send' button be visible.

Make sure that all your information is correct before you send in your application.

When you send in the application you will receive a confirmation with a 7-figure application number. If you do not receive this confirmation, your application has not been sent and we cannot see it.

You will also automatically get an e-mail with a confirmation. If you have sent your application and received your confirmation but not received an email, please check that you have filled in the correct email address in your application!

  • After you have completed and sent in your application, it will be visible as a PDF file. This is the file that you should print and sign in order to turn it into to the International Office together with the enclosed documents.

You can no longer make any changes in your application after you have sent it, so if you make a mistake you must make a new application. We can see which application was made last and we will consider it to be the valid application.
