PLEASE NOTE: To authorize a change in species or gear, the Department must find that the change would be consistent with the findings it made when the lease was approved that the lease met the statutory criteria [12 MRS §6072 (7-A) (standard leases) or §6072-A (13) (experimental leases)]. Proposed changes that the Department believes may be inconsistent with those findings may be subject to a public notice and comment period before a decision is made on the change application [see 12 MRS §6072 (13) (G) and §6072-A (8)].
